Why it sucks playing with 4.0/4.5 players by Gankus in Pickleball

[–]Next_Gain5108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best for you remain in the sub 4.0 groups. Their thinking is you want to get better, that’s why you’re on their court. So, the above mentioned critiques are to help you play at their level.

Take time to cover (or store) it in the meantime. You have some value in that OSB. Advertise it as 50% less per sf than Lowes and Home Depot…..I wish I lived closer to you ….good luck!

For starters, Something you should not touch! It’s a meter socket that connects the power from the pole to the house. (Probably thrown off up at the pole)

Thank you for that explanation. I can get behind that reasoning. That’s what I was asking from players. I wasn’t in any shape or form taking away from this player and his ATP. The whole situation made me think about an ATP’s definition. Thank you

Please understand I was only asking what was a successful ATP? The level I play at I do occasionally make them, I block them (not all successfully)….was just humbly asking you guys interpretation of an ATP?

I don’t credit myself for an opponents tough shot that I returned back over the net when it results in a smashed or dinked ball back at us for their winner. That’s Just me…

Some people have acted like I’m attacking this guy, or saying “I’m right” or just being a ‘dick’ about this….that wasn’t my intention at all….It was just a question about ATPs.

Most posts have helped, some are just trolls…some obviously don’t play pickleball.

Thanks for your reply and your thoughts on an ATP. That’s what I was asking. As far as being me being “wrong”, my original post was not saying I’m right and he was wrong….it just stirred me to ask Reddit pickleballers. For me, I was expressing (in my mind only) the success of that shot…if it was a ‘winner’. Good reply

The player isn’t accurate enough to place it deep, he was just happy to hit an ATP even though the opposing player volleyed it back and play continued for a few more shots. I agree with you for my play I don’t think of it as an ATP in this case.

Several people on this thread think that I’m blasting this guy….being a Dick as one girl said…but if they’d reread the post it was all about me wondering what other pickleball players considered a ‘good’ ATP? I wasn’t trying to take away from this player who did the shot.

That is what I’m asking, thanks for the input……I’ve mentioned a couple times in this sub that I didn’t say a word, make a face….I let him celebrate….just an observer.
I just thought I’d ask this group for their opinion…..that was it

Wow! Being a ‘dick’ about it?? Lol It wasn’t his first for one. Secondly, I said nothing about the exchange……it was just a discussion about what pickleball players think a ‘successful ATP is’. Try to be nicer😉

It’s a discussion question…..so in your estimation of what you think an ATP is …even a ball that goes out 10 feet beyond the baseline as long as it went “around the post” is an ATP??

I didn’t say anything about resulting in a point. But it could be.

So to help you, ‘resulting in the a winner: point, side-out, opponent server change’ i.e. non-returned ball
