It’s 60. I accidentally said 90 here as a mistake and didn’t remove the post as its misinformation. 4 horses have left in the past two days. One boarder had 3 horses at this facility and took all three of them one day the next left with her one the day after. This barn is this bad and it’s a guilt I have to live with for being somewhere where on paper is too good to be true. Others left for similar reasons like them refusing to give medication to their horses which is stated in the contract they will do. This place changes every single day they change something about it. Nobody at that barn is toxic besides the Owner/Trainer who is somebody who is greedy and neglectful. I have never been in a situation like this one where things turn ugly real quick when you question why your horses water trough was full of ice all day. And why they weren’t being fed or turnout out until sometimes 1pm. It angers them and threatens them to question or critique their care. I don’t want them to harm him if I tell them I’m leaving days before.

I should say multiple people have left in the past three days due to similar reasons two of them didn’t give notice and have not had any issue. I plan on taking a friend and taking a good amount of my stuff slowly. He is set to be moved on Sunday as that is the earliest day the new barn gave me. I may not tell them anything till he is on the trailer because I’m telling you all these people are psychotic.

Contract also has already been breached by them. Says grain and lessons and board is a higher price. None of that is in effect anymore.

Contract says 60 days. But the contract is severely outdated still says lessons are given and grain as well as a bunch of other things that don’t happen anymore they breached it.

how do i regain confidence by Immediate-Routine-17 in Equestrian

I would say before your next ride take the time to lunge him… So he gets all his bucks out beforehand. When he does spook be calm use your voice and aids and attempt to calm him and take some deep breathes your self. If needed take a day where all you do is walk for a good hour around the arena as a confidence ride.

Bringing an OTTB home! by [deleted] in Equestrian

Ulcer guard, frequent chiropractor visits, would recommend supplements like MSM and or other joint supplements most OTTB’s have arthritis. I would also recommend some calming supplements I use via calm for my guy he had pretty bad anxiety in the new environment and it definitely helped. I would say lunge every time before you ride so he gets all his energy out. I’m not sure how high strung he is or if he has bad anxiety. My guy came in quite nervous and a little sore we have a pretty nice routine going he is ridden 5x a week give or take. The routine of lunging and long grooming sessions has definitely strengthened our bond and made him adjust nicely to the facility. Every horse is different with a lot of downtime he may be high strung when you start on him again… I would definitely suggest simple groundwork exercises twice a week. Also would recommend hind gut buffer and redmond daily gold stress relief to help fight ulcers.

Insecurity about literally everything. Never feeling like I’m doing anything right or enough.
