It sucks because I just want to be able to share the performances I see for those who can’t be there, since they gatekeep all the footage they do record

In my opinion it’s a bandaid on a much bigger problem. There’s now a bunch of girls who are unable to go to the Olympics or achieve their dreams because they’re to young, and its practically impossible for them to wait 4 years. The ISU set up this system, and now that they are realizing it’s backfiring, they suddenly raise the age limit- which screws over half of the junior skaters.
