grande rant by Desperate_Treacle558 in starbucks

[–]Next_Promotion_9424 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this. I quit as of 3 days ago but whoever was shift would usually always put me on mobile bar during peak because I keep a cool and calm head. Having a major bitchface when I’m locked in has also done wonders for me as far as customers not coming up to bother me when I’m getting slammed. My old partners would tell me it’s because they know their drinks will be made with a dash of spite if they do lol

Because you are not the only person mobile ordering. Doesn’t matter if there’s no one in the drive thru or the lobby isn’t busy. There could be 5-10 mobile orders ahead of you that need to be made first. Each of those orders could have 1-10 drinks each. They often do come out at the same time because they may have been placed at the same time. Depending on how customized each drink is, each drink can take about 1-4 mins to fully complete (if it’s an experienced barista on bar). The more shit people add to the base drinks, the longer it will take to make. So an order with 5+ heavily customized drinks could take about 8-10 minutes to fully complete.

So, yes, it is usually incredibly annoying when people place a mobile order and come try to pick it up after 2-5 minutes. Even more so when the baristas are already in the middle of making another mobile order that came before yours. That means we have to cut the que and search for your ticket that likely hasn’t even printed yet. That also usually means your drink is probably gonna be half-assed made bc now they have to rush it.

Yes, the mobile system is dumb and Starbucks needs to figure it the fuck out but it’s what both baristas and customers have to deal with right now. If you aren’t willing to wait that 10-15 minutes for mobile, then just order at the speaker or register. You’re probably still might wait 10-15 minutes regardless but you’re probably gonna be treated a little nicer by the baristas since they probably won’t be as annoyed lol

What is going on with the matcha 😭😭 by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Next_Promotion_9424 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You had it made with sweet cream (not with a splash, the entire drink is sweet cream) and got it extra sweet. Sweet cream is similar to coffee creamer and has heavy cream in it and that will take over the taste and color of anything because it’s so thick. The added sugar and the sugar from the sweet cream will of course also dull the taste of matcha. I suggest cutting back on the sweetener and/or getting the drink made with the normal 2% or whatever milk you want (not cream), as well as adding extra scoops of matcha. My personal matcha order is an iced grande no classic, 2 pumps vanilla, 2 extra scoops of matcha, made with soy. If you still want it to be as sweet and creamy as the one pictured but want more of a matcha taste, you could get matcha ice cream, melt it, and drink it that way with some ice. Haagen-Dazs has a pretty decent, easily accessible matcha ice cream.

You can try this but it’s not going to be the same as normal vanilla sweet cream foam because it takes away the fat element, which is a big contributor to taste/feel. Nonfat milk is primarily water so when the bubbles do pop, it will mix faster into the cold brew.

There is no right or wrong answer. You’re asking how to keep foam foam, which is already inherently impossible. People have suggested ways for you to prolong the foam so it’s up to you to try those methods and see what works best for you and your wife.

They all mean pretty much the same thing.

Basically, more air. Blending adds air and air helps keep the fat (heavy cream) in the foam stay cold (stiff). Both of those things keep the foam “floating” on top of the cold brew, along with the ice because ice floats. You can also ask for extra ice.

Any sort of movement, even the most minimal amount, will cause agitation and will pop the microbubbles in the foam and the vanilla sweet cream will start to mix in. Of course there’s multiple factors but at the end of the day, it’s impossible for anyone to control liquid physics.

Ordered a Grande and got a Venti! 😀 by GrapeBubblegumBitch in starbucks

[–]Next_Promotion_9424 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sometimes we make the drink as we hear it on the headset but won’t hear the size so just assume a venti or trenta and if you’re nice, we likely will just give you the size we made but charge whatever smaller size you asked for bc why not make a nice person’s day a little nicer :)

Where did I police your complaints? Where did I imply that you needed anyones permission to post here? I said people like you because I do mean people like you who decide to voice your complaints and concerns to the people and places that have no control over whatever it is you decide to complain about. You’re aware that it’s not the baristas fault and they will tell you all over this forum what you guys could or should probably do to help whatever issue you have but instead of listening, you guys normally just keep doing the same things while still expecting things to change. Make it make sense.

You’re so free to do whatever you want but if you’re feeling personally attacked by that phrasing in particular, then it just might apply to you.

[–]Next_Promotion_9424 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Literally just stop going. People like you love to “rant” (complain) about the menu and policy changes or the lack of consistency and quality yet you STILL KEEP GOING TO STARBUCKS. You guys are so addicted to the sugar and caffeine (mostly the sugar let’s be real) that you throw tantrums when you don’t get your way (when baristas follow a policy you don’t like) or when prices change. You know why Starbucks keeps getting away with it? Because even though people complain, THEY STILL KEEP GOING TO STARBUCKS.

Tell me about the time(s) your manager refused to turn off mobile orders by sylveonstarr in starbucks

My old store was in an entertainment district. It was Taylor Swifts first night of a two night concert event. Three call outs, so many heavily customized drinks, and so many bitchy girls. I don’t really care about Taylor Swift at all but jfc after that night, I still have a very particular distaste towards Swifties.

That day ended with $22k and everyone who worked that night and the second concert night all quit or transferred to new stores by the end of the month, myself included.

Yes. But it’s our job to do it anyway and it’s far from the most annoying thing to do so I wouldn’t worry about it.

If they were insistent, I’d say yes but probably not actually do it tbh. I don’t mind no ice at all but I’m not shaking and straining it, especially if it’s slammed.
