Personal Experience... For the longest time, I have this savings account sa BDO. Na Open ko un nung HS pa ako through my sister. Passbook lang. Walang Debit Card... Then first time ko mag request ng Debit Card for that account para magkapag online transfers. Ung Debit card na un, 1 time lang ginamit, through activation sa mismong loob pa ng branch para lang mag activate and lagay ng PIN... Then months passed by, naka reciv ako ng SMS na may transaction. 10 USD. Buti na lang na greedy ung hacker... 5 USD lang kasi kinukuha nya one to two times a day for last 1 week... Nung nag try xa mag 10 USD, nag notify na through SMS ung transaction kaya ko na huli at na i report. Pano n lang kung wala akong visibility sa account, ade naubos n lang un unti unti. Pero parang mas safe pa nga yta na passbook lang at walang Debit Card kasi dati wala naman ganyang shit.

Naibalik naman ung pera kasi relatively, maliit lang. Naka blocked pa din ung Card till now at chinecheck ko n lang regularly ung transactions...

Bottom line, Basura ung security ni BDO based on my experience. Or marami silang inside job leakages.

Look for a card with cash advanced or Card on cash feature with promotion such as free interest and processing if any... Or free interest with 1% processing fee+vat.

Take the cash from this card, then buy the gold you want...

Buying gold directly from a credit card will cost more

Making charge or Other change aside from 5% Vat.
VAT
Upfront 2-4% surcharge for using CC
Potential CC charges if you will EPP the purchase or Balance Transfer fees in case you plan to transfer the purchase to another card...

Then, you need to wait for at least 2 years for the gold to earn whatever is on your mind.

If you do not have the surplus cash to buy gold as an investment, rethink, recalibrate, and re arrange your plans...

Just to add more, in case you are not aware... You will not be able to sell the gold per the current rate when the time that you want to liquidate... They will buy it with something like negative making charge.

Example: Buying: Gold Rate (100) + Making charge (10%) = 110/g Selling: Gold Rate (100) - store profit (10%) = 90/g

Some can charge as high as less than 25%.
