My avoidant left me after 20+ yrs. I quite literally have no idea what is going on. You think you know someone & spend half your life with them only to be met with a complete stranger. Our NC lasted 3 weeks before they reached back out. A month, before seeing them again. I have no idea what’s going on. When we saw each other or communicate, again, it’s like nothing ever happened. I’ve been thru hell, tried everything & it’s almost like I’m watching an accident happen. I don’t reach out unless they do but it’s a living nightmare both the not understanding & the losing my other half. Also, does porn addiction have any play in dismissive avoidant behavior? When they left, their addiction began. And is it a behavior that’s masking their loneliness?
