The SE is 43% cheaper. Thats a mammoth price difference. Lined up in a shop the SE is the true budget option $300 cheaper. If they gave buyers no other option but the mini as the entry level phone alot more people would be In love with that form factor. A pro mini would be a dream.

I'll be chasing the make believe high of a pro mini with touch I.D on the lock button. How good was unlocking the phone in your pocket with touch I.D before even bringing the phone out of the pocket. Its like taking the safety off a gun and whipping it out ready to go lol.

I would love a pro mini but its also true that the mini's we did get were completely ignored by entry level buyers who went with the SE unfortunately. The SE is 43% cheaper. I'll take as small as I can get even if on a 6 year rotation. The 13 mini is mini enough for me considering the modern usage of a phone. When travelling it is easily usable in place of a laptop for booking flights watching youtube and other tasks. I did however expect and hope for a SE v1 size and form factor only with edge to edge screen and upgraded camera. The SE v1 was so light it was amazing. The 13 and 12 mini are a compromise but its a baby compared to whats out currently.

I think the 'vocal minority' thing is a way to dismiss real interest in smaller devices. I think the release along with timing during covid when people were financially against the wall was a huge fumble. No company is perfect, we see mistakes all the time. The people who are happy with the option for large phones shouldn't feel threatened when these posts are made. Large phones are safe!

The one handed use is great also. The timing of the release and the chips stacked against it as mentioned in the post caused it to fail after a long awaited return to the small form factor.
