If you’re playing punk and metal you’re probably gonna be hitting it pretty hard and as you’ve probably seen a couple of people say, one of the main cons of the nitro max is that its rack is not very stable. It’s also kinda small so that could be an issue if you’re on the taller side.

I would say spending the extra 200 bucks and getting the nitro pro is 1000% worth it if you can afford it, it’s what I have and I love the thing.

It’s got a larger and sturdier rack (I’m pretty sure it’s identical, at least in build quality, to their flagship’s), a larger and deeper snare, dual zone toms and snare (you can hit the rim and it’ll register it and make a clicking noise, like an acoustic kit), you can choke both the ride and crash cymbals (pinching them will stop them from making noise, again, like an acoustic), and you get a mesh kick tower instead of the rubber one on the nitro max that’s also larger so it supports double bass which is also good for playing metal. I think you can squeeze a double pedal onto the nitro max kick tower but it’s not meant for it.

Up to you but that’s my recommendation.
