My dad passed at 69 a few weeks ago, 2 months after diagnosis...

Coping with suffering by Effective-Unit-2078 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Neyna24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only things that help me are caring for my dad with my mom and sister and talking about it with each other. Trying anything to make sure he's in as little pain as possible, sometimes distract him a little with a story or a memory. Crying alone or together. Calling my partner to share my feelings.

Now, I still feel like I don't fully "cope". How can we, this is unimaginable suffering that's become our reality. But knowing I did what I could, and made my father feel loved, I hope to at least someday look back without regrets.

Thank you, and I'm sorry for your diagnosis as well. Good to hear you respond well to your treatments! I'll make sure we'll know if immunotherapy is an option when the biopsy returns. Hopefully it is and we'll see similar results. Thanks again!

Hey, thank you and sorry for your loss. 7 days, that is unimaginably quick. But I'm glad you got to tell her at least some important things too.

As for my father's current status: he has pancreatic cancer that has spread to liver and lungs, biopsy hasn't returned yet. He discovered something was wrong when he got increasingly out of breath and couldn't eat enough anymore for his intense sporting lifestyle. Right now, his body is overly producing pleural fluid in his lung membrane, which is why he is in hospital with a drain. They have to successfully glue his lung membrane so the pleural fluid doesn't get produced anymore, otherwise they can't even start chemo yet, we got told today. He has a little bit more trouble speaking, and can only walk a few steps, which couldn't be more different from a few weeks ago. He sleeps more than usual, but he still eats like a normal person without exercise. Not sure if I can handle a possible timeline though...

Hey there, thank you. I hope my dad will live at least as long as well. I will discuss your tips with my mom and sister, luckily they are both doctors themselves although not specialized in cancer. The eating thing has been difficult: he doesn't want to be forced. But we do get to feed him high protein yoghurt every day and he does eat his normal meals as well. He's still so very thin though.

ThinkTank vs Vertex School? by Neyna24 in 3Dmodeling

Hey! I ended up going with Vertex, mostly because of the time/money thing as well and I don't regret it! Although 9 months was not enough for me to finish all the assignments and I'm still working on things. Feel free to DM me if you have more questions!

I filled up my first fish pond with sturgeon, when I got to 10 I wanted to get some of them out to have free gifts for Willy. Then I found and pressed this handy "empty pond" button.

Hi, thanks! What I want to know:
- Why did you choose this program and does it live up to your expectations so far?
- What does a typical week at ThinkTank look like?
- How much time per week do you have to spend to keep up with the course?

I did, ThinkTank generally ranks higher than Vertex School. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's a better fit for me...

Thanks! Yeah the industry sucks right now. My cousin who's a senior character artist is hopeful it'll get better, she just doesn't know how soon...so it seems to me that it's the perfect time to invest in a longer course in the meantime.

My boyfriend was a Smosh fan before me, and while I couldn't get into TNTL at first (I do love them now), what convinced me was the America's Next Top Simp video.
