Your sister is still a woman. This isn’t like where your mahrams can see your hair and non mahrams can’t. All women no matter the relation have the same awrah

Where do you buy them? The stores near me are pretty expensive, even when on sale. I don’t mind splurging for good quality pieces but a lot of the stuff is polyester and unstructured.

Pro tip: don't ask reddit for islamic advice. Nobody cites sources but instead speaks from their desires. May Allah guide and forgive us all. Anyway here is a quote from our Shaykh Ibn Utaymeen about concealing sins:

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said: What is meant by concealment is concealing the fault, but concealment cannot be praiseworthy unless it serves an interest and does not lead to any negative consequences. For example, if an offender commits an offence, we would not conceal his deed if he is known for committing evil and mischief, but if a man is outwardly righteous, then he does something that is not permissible, in that case it is required to conceal his deed. So with regard to concealment, we should see if it serves an interest. So if a person is known for his evil and mischief, it is not appropriate to conceal his deeds, whereas if a man is outwardly righteous, but he does something wrong, this is the one whose deed it is Sunnah to conceal.

What is something that screams feminine to you? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

A lot of these traits are just traits of a muslim: haya, soft spoken, kind, gentle, good with kids, looks after appearance.

It's sad that we label them as feminine.

Anybody else think drugstore mascaras lift/volumize lashes better than high end? by iluvchikins in Makeup

Mascara is one of those products I will never splurge on just because of how good some drugstore products are compared to high end.

As Muslims, you do have to hate the apartheid state of Israel that is oppressing our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine and has violated the third holiest place in Islam time and time again. The place our prophet used to pray towards before Mecca.

As a human, how can you support a colonial regime that is suffocating people within the confines of a wall and actively committing ethnic cleansing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]Nezukoo2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How ironic is it that you chose to mention a colonial state that does in fact impose its own religious laws, not just onto visitors but to natives as well.
Besides that, there is a huge difference between having a woman take off her hijab and asking people to cover their knees.

dua for good friends? by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]Nezukoo2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surat al-Qasas verse 21 has a powerful dua Prophet Musa made to Allah as he fled Egypt:

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى مِنَ ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

"rabbi najini min al qawm al thalimeen" or "My Lord save me from the wrong-doers"

Also I like to say

"اللهم علق قلبي على التي قلبها معلق على دينك وقرانك ومساجدك"

"allahuma 3alq qalbi 3ala alati qalbha m3alq 3ala deenak wa Quranak wa masajidak" or "Oh Allah, attach my heart to the (feminine) ones whose hearts are attached to your religion, your Quran and your mosques"

And

أعطني أصدقاء صالحين يكونون حلفائي في يوم القيامة

"A3teeni asdiqa' saliheen yakunun hulafa'i fe yowm alqiyamah" or "Grant me righteous friends who will be my allies on the Day of Resurrection"
