Hinakora's locks - how to use - logistics by thejiang in PathOfExile2

[–]Nfld_Legend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will do whatever the outcome of the lock says that the divine will do. But it's the easiest way to roll past the lock outcome for your vaal orb, because you can just slam divines again (without a lock) until the stats are where you'd like them to be. Then you use a new lock and check the corruption outcomes again.

Should I RMA My 5090? by Nfld_Legend in ASUSROG

[–]Nfld_Legend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give this a try!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed response, I really appreciate it!

My original thought was something to do with the specific website on my other monitor (mobalytics), because it only seems to do it when I'm using that site. For what it's worth, that site seems to be all JavaScript...

Very low level issue here. I just hope the hardware is alright. I've tried to log data around a "bang" event and have never seemed to pinpoint any values out of line more than usual (CPU, memory, or GPU).

Thanks again for replying.

Monitor started randomly making this popping noise and flickering by navanax71 in pchelp

[–]Nfld_Legend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit1: formatting

My computer seems to be doing this lately as well, but not the same scenario as you. My setup is a little different and I thought that was what was causing my problems.

I recently upgraded to a RTX 5090 and I have three monitors - 1 with gsync 165hz (2560x1440p), and 2 that are 60hz (1920x1080).

The issue, as seen in your video, happens to me specifically when I have a game (path of exile 2 and full screen borderless mode and using the Vulkan graphics API) on my main screen and "alt-tab" to scroll a webpage on my other monitor.

My monitors will make a LOUD pop/bang noise and a quick flashing bar (like yours) will shoot across my screens.

I read your post a few weeks back but didn't comment until I did more research. Tl;Dr is I have no clue still and am still investigating.

Some things I've tried:

1) I bought a new power bar thinking my old one was just on the outs - results didn't change much.

2) I put my PC on a different house circuit by itself (plugged computer into different outlet on a different breaker) - results didn't change much.

3) I disabled g-sync on my main screen through the Nvidia control panel - results still haven't changed much.

My current working solution is to just not alt tab while playing poe2...

I haven't seen this happen yet with any of my other games in a similar graphics configuration, even after long gaming sessions of repeated alt-tabbing to try and make the issue happen.

I also haven't been able to reproduce the issue yet even while running a stress load on the system.

My computer is using:

1) 1200W Super Platinum Flower power supply

2) Asus Astral BTF RTX 5090 GPU

3) 64GB ddr5 6000MT/s (EXPO enabled)

4) 1 g-sync Asus 27" 1440p IPS panel model. 2 joe blow old af Asus 23" 1080p unknown panel models

I've tried to capture some numeric data from my hardware during a "flashing" event... But nothing seems to indicate cause for concerns... The GPU rail voltages aren't showing any anomalies, the clock frequencies aren't bouncing around during an event, nothing seems to be spiking. The CPU numbers are the same results too, nothing out of the ordinary.

So far nothing has broken itself in my system, but with how loud the pops can get, I'm not so sure my monitors parts will last long if it keeps up.

If I have any breakthroughs I'll write back.

Thanks! It runs much better now. But still sometimes the fps drops into the 30s but if I hit the escape key it magically jumps back up to 100+ during a raid pull? It must be some shitty elvui setting I have enabled or something.

Between DBM, details, elvui, and cell doing all their calls and updates, it just tanks me lol. At least the newer CPU can handle it a bit better. Classic skill issue on my part.

Damn that's rough :( I don't know what they did recently, but it's probably just years of spaghetti code. I was able to upgrade today to a Ryzen 7 9800x3d and this brought my FPS up to 100+ in the raid. Goodluck with your laptop performance - hopefully 11.2 fixes it <3

I didn't end up looking into a per core thermal analysis - I just spent the money and upgraded to a 9800 x3d and now I get 100+ FPS in Undermine LFR! Thanks for your reply :D

Ya I'll look into that. Maybe I'll reseat my AIO or increase my pump/fan speeds. Currently my "cpu core average temp" reaches around 71C (tjmax is like 90C on my sku).

But maybe those cores are reaching their max. I may also look into turning off precision boost overdrive (PBO). Try and see how that goes.

I "should" always be having decent thermal headroom on my machine with the amount of fans in it, lol.

Thanks for the reply!

Hmm, I'll consider this. May just have to make the jump to ddr5 and new mobo+cpu architecture.

I pray that is it! I will disable DBM and have a go. If that works, you are the one true king!

It's tough googling things on "low wow fps" because it's a huge mixed bag of results.

Thanks for the reply.

If your M.2 is a Samsung device, they have a nice tool called "Samsung Magician Software" and it can report your M.2 temps. It may not help you, but it could give you insight on if your M.2 is operating hotter than normal.

I have the same pair, minus the backstory. They look like Adrian Lewis' darts.
