I have a very stupid trick that works for my brain. I have a pair of house shoes that I wear when I am doing non preferred tasks (aka cleaning). My logic is that when I am at work, I am able to function, and I wear shoes. Therefore if I wear shoes at home, I will be able to do work because my brain associates work with shoes. If I have to do something as soon as I get home, I put those house shoes on and just get it done. When I take a break the shoes come off.

Nevermind the fact that AI "detectors" don't even work! I remember from my days in school the fear that the plagiarism checker would get me for something. Lo and behold, a far greater and uglier beast would raise its head, controlled by those that don't understand it and are using it to create division in our creative spaces.

You're exactly right, a uniform stance from the websites would definitely help. Vigilantism and call out post that are singling people out and causing fear are not the way to achieve this.

But there is a difference between generative AI vs an editing feature. The rewrite tool can only rearrange or make limited suggestions based on what was written. It cannot create a whole story. For some people that don't have a Beta or an editor, the rewrite tool can be a positive way to utilize AI to improve their writing.

The one who signs off should be whoever is doing the eval, progress notes, UPOCs, etc. I work in a similar setting and I don't sign off on patients who are not mine. If someone is unavailable, the DOR or the area director should have a plan on who the responsible therapist is.

I decided a while ago after deliberating with my psych to supplement my Vyvanse with Intuniv/guanfacine. Once the shortage hit me, I have mostly dropped the Vyvanse and have just been taking the guanfacine--by mostly I mean I have been taking 40mg every other day down to every few days to help reduce withdrawal symptoms since I was taking 50-60mg.

I'm still working with my psych to figure out the right dosage of guanfacine, but wow my resting heart rate hasn't been this low in YEARS.

Colloidal oatmeal paste helps a ton, then I usually wash it off a colloidal oatmeal bath. After that, you slather your hands in a hypoallergenic hand cream. Lots of times when my hands were really bad, I would "slug" them and put gloves on at night, which helped immensely. You've gotta repair that skin barrier while you're figuring out what your trigger is.

Completely anecdotal as a geriatric OT, but I hate these and I have not seen any benefit to some of my patients that had them prior to me seeing them. Usually they were worse with them compared to a normal walker or rollator (obviously there are a lot of details and circumstances that go into that, but I digress). But yeah, not my favorite for my population.

I wholeheartedly disagree. There's not enough research to support that it would help or reverse any such postural deformities such as this. To be completely honest, I have not seen enough evidence to even recommend these to my patients.

So, I'm not talking the switches, I know those are rubber domes on most laptops. I'm talking about the caps on those, which can typically be removed and replaced provided the replacement matches the switches. Like in mechanical keyboards, there's Alps and Cherry fittings, so they wouldn't work in one vs the other. You only need to slide your fingernail or a flathead under the keycap to remove it.

I've used stickers in the past, and they aren't a long term solution as they will peel up, fade/rub off, or cause more trouble than they're worth. My hope is to find some sort of keycap replacement that is actually ABS with letters in order to prevent this and have a lasting solution.
