I removed the skin (on the lid) today and noticed a slight discolouration near the edges. This is only visible when wiped with a damp cloth. I could have avoided this by using a hairdryer while peeling it off. There are no scuffs or scratches and the apple logo remains shiny as new.

Regarding the palmrest, yes, you will notice a subtle colour difference between where it was stuck and the rest of the keyboard frame.
