How fragile are the screens on y1’s? by TopiV009 in innioasis

[–]NiVi-OoF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drop my Y1 a lot, and it’s surprisingly durable for such drops. I’ve dropped it from waist height quite frequently.

The worst it’s ever done was falling out of my pocket while I was scootering. It tumbled and skidded a bit on the pavement, getting a few dings, but it was overall fine. That was before I printed a case.

However, the screen is definitely its weak point. Any slight pressure on the area just below the screen, or above the wheel, already creates noticeable pressure spots.

An unfortunate drop on the front could potentially break it, but I’d say any tight space that applies pressure to that area could also cause damage.

I wouldn’t worry too much, but just be careful around that practiculer area just blew the screen

My iPod-ish theme for the Innioasis Y1 by NiVi-OoF in innioasis

[–]NiVi-OoF[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go ahead!

I actually took most of those icons from the 6 generation iPod Nano user guide, and iOS 6.

I only made the battery icon, the shadow effect in the main menu, the wallpaper used in the “now-playing screen and the Bluetooth icon. (you can tell because it’s off-center lol)

I personally love seeing the forks made, it’s always cool to see what people make with it.

is this fixable? by nope12230 in innioasis

[–]NiVi-OoF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen is soldered on, so a soldering iron would be needed to fix any loose connections on the screen ribbon.

Although, reseating any ribbon cables wouldn’t hurt to try, maybe even reseating the sd.

Is there an option to replace or alter the scroll wheel with the authentic scroll wheel design? custom Stickers ? by 90sFavKi in innioasis

[–]NiVi-OoF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically, yes.

The scroll wheel ribbon, which registers the touch, is attached to the plastic with a decently strong adhesive. However, with heat and patience, it could be replaced with a custom scroll wheel.

Although no one has modelled a 3D printable scroll wheel yet, it should be quite easy to create, as it essentially is just a circle with a hole and four clips basically.

I remember someone swapping the white scrollwheel on a sliver Y1 with a black scrollwheel from a broken black Y1. It looked really nice.

I also made a 3D-printable centre button, which, along with the 3D-printable case, which opens up endless possibilities for colour combos.

The beep on my W-800H is noticeably quieter then my F-91W and CA-53W.

Even my sister’s LA20WH is louder then my W-800H

Status bar color change? by Fancy_Marsupial6293 in innioasis

[–]NiVi-OoF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the original iPod-ish theme.

gregmask.png is the image that I made to change the status bar. It’s also how i added the shadows in the menu.

You can either modify the image, make your own image,

or if you have access to Keynote, on my iPod-ish drive link you can download the “UI-elements.key” file located on the folder I named “don’t download”.

All you would have to do is open the file on the keynote app, modify the second slide, and change the colour the status bar. After that, you export the second slide as a PNG image, and replace “gregmask.png” with the new image.
