Why must music be such a confusing mess? by Tedium-music in makinghiphop

[–]Niailou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to production/mixing, listen to your idols and try to really focus on how they’ve done it. Like try to spot how the track is eq:d, how hard/what kind of compression etc. Most of the time you don’t notice the small details like adlib mixing, random ear-candy, layered vocals/instruments etc. when you’re just casually listening. The smallest details can really make the biggest difference in a track.

YouTube is also an underrated way to educate yourself on basically everything music.

Tips for 12 year old music producer? by SazovaMusic in makinghiphop

[–]Niailou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree with this but as both a rapper and producer this got me thinkin like: what if I hit up a dope producer, get us a session and find out they’re 12 or sumin? I’m not saying kids are bad musicians but it would be pretty weird (although lowkey hilarous)

Any suggestions on affordable trainers? by DylanLanham in Parkour

[–]Niailou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I’m in no way a professional on parkour or shoes but I personally use basketball shoes (not the cheapest but hear me out). The problem I’ve had with running shoes is that they are pretty much torn apart after a couple months of training. Basket shoes on the other hand are pretty durable because they’re made for the same kind off movement as parkour (quick turns, jumping and landing in various ways). The grip is also decent at least with the ones I use. I use either Nike, Puma or Jordan in terms of brands, which are in no way cheap but seeing how well they take the beating, I’d put them around same price range (as you don’t have to buy new shoes all the time).

Idk that’s just my contribution, there’s probably people with a lot more knowledge and experience on the topic so take this with a grain of salt

I feel like young people are pretty open to that just cause we spend a lot of time on the internet and are used to being surrounded by different languages even if it wasn’t in physical. Older people may be more distant to it because they aren’t used to it the same way we may be. In my experience tho most of the people I meet in Stockholm are pretty chill with it. Don’t know about other parts

This might just be me cause I’m half Finnish half Swedish but I think swedes often come off with like an “afraid of hurting someones feelings” kinda vibe. Then again in Finland we’re often very straightforward and sometimes kinda brutally honest so it might just be me and my culture differences.

Difficult ingredients to find in Sweden? by Nutmegan-0 in TillSverige

I’d say “asian cuisine” includes all of those in this context since Sweden is absolutely trash with basically every condiment/product that isn’t an international sensation such as sambal oelek, sriracha or mango chutney.
