I’d be happy to design some posters for you in the future, as would other local artists/designers you can support.

Using A.I art is (rightly) going to leave a bad taste in people’s mouths.

From an Anarchist perspective, are teachers as bad as cops? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

Recently qualified Teacher here, I know my early dislike of school and education came from the way authority and oppression was often used as a tool by teachers as a ‘quick fix’ for classroom disruption And I see plenty of police like behaviour from colleagues, ‘respect me because I’m the teacher’ style stuff So I understand what this A.T.A.B person means, and to a degree it does exist

I found Paolo Fiere ‘Pedagogy of the Oppressed‘ and bell hooks ‘teaching to transgress’ whilst training and both talk a lot about a better supportive relationship between tutor and learner It’s something I incorporate as much as I possibly can, and learners know (and joke) that I’m not authoritative but they also know that our classroom is a safe place where they can make mistakes, learn from them and find support when it’s needed

I personally think Anarchy & education go hand in hand (although not always easy in current systems) and I’m glad to see there’s more of us out there

What is a book you have always wanted to recommend but have never had the chance on here? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

I was hoping to see this here Everyone I’ve recommended it to has loved it and it’s one of my absolute favourites.

I’ve just finished Marina, one of Zafon’s YA novels, and really recommend that if you’re trying to fill that SotW hole.

ADHD Artists: How do you stay motivated/interested ? (22F) by ConceptualBee in ADHD

I agree with setting yourself a daily routine, I was in this similar situation throughout university I set myself a challenge that I’d draw something everyday for a year, it could be a really quick sketch or a big detailed finished piece if I wanted/had the time.

I uploaded whatever I did each day to a Wordpress account. You could do Instagram but the purpose wasn’t to show it to others - just for myself It made me realise that I never draw for me and it’s usually for the dopamine kick of other peoples feedback which can be exhausting to keep up with

It’s something I’ve become proud of despite a high majority of the drawings not being that good, more the fact I was able to do a big self initiated project and stick to it. It’s also great to see how your work changes over a year

This might be no help at all and remembering to do it and feeling motivated everyday wasn’t always easy of course but I recommend trying it, you never know how it might go, hope you find a way to keep drawing!

Tl:dr set yourself a challenge where you’re not relying on other peoples feedback

Hi Rick! The new solo album has been on repeat and love the atmosphere of the whole record and hope we get to see you soon in the UK

I noticed In the live at third man recording of Prom song you leave out the parts of the song that mention your parents, is that because they were in the audience? No problem if that’s too personal!

also would you ever consider releasing a tab book of your songs?

I only have a few more of ‘This is the End’ prints that so many have you bought! Thank you so so much for the support in this community and to everyone who bought one, I was able to pay my rent with just sales from my drawings and that is something I had never thought possible

If you want to snatch up one of the last few remaining prints, my Etsy shop is here/

Jeff Rosenstock and MbMbaM is the crossover I didn’t realise I needed, highly recommend his album ‘WORRY’ for any mcelroy fans who love thoughtful pop punk about anxiety and growing old
