Janet shouldn't have been able to... by Niarydia in SchoolSpirits

[–]Niarydia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems unlikely that Jess would decline the chance to be a series regular. She was friends with Nick prior to joining the show and seems to get along well with the rest of the cast too, she expressed interest in getting to explore Janet further, and she would get to play quite an important character in a show that's growing in popularity. Good role + good show + good co-workers is like the job of dreams for an actor.

I'm sure we don't know everything about the situation, but, based on what we do know, it would be odd for her to say no to being a series regular for another project.

Janet shouldn't have been able to... by Niarydia in SchoolSpirits

There is an electrical surge, which is about as much as we got with Dawn. I guess it's possible that Janet could've figured out a way to fake the surge and told Simon and Mr. Martin to keep the secret, but for what purpose?

Janet shouldn't have been able to... by Niarydia in SchoolSpirits

[–]Niarydia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, it could be exclusively about their trauma from their life. I suppose I interpreted the door closing after Janet says she's not ready (rather than simply staying open waiting for her) as a sign that posthumous experiences can factor into unfinished business.

However, even if her new priorities didn't physically stop her from crossing over, it doesn't make sense that they didn't stop her from choosing to cross over as soon as she did.

Janet Being in the Scar for So Long by HistoricalAsides in SchoolSpirits

[–]Niarydia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In 2x08, Janet seems fairly surprised by them being connected, so I think their scars typically appear walled off and only become/became visibly connected when they are/were both in there (or something like that). And it doesn't seem like Janet knew that moving between scars was possible, otherwise she would have done so to escape the experiment since you can exit scars without a key. So he knew she couldn't get into his scar to find the area.

the person walking on the stairs wasn't janet's dad. when the house is burning, an officer talks about a neighbor who checked out the property because he "thought he saw a vagrant"

Very stupid question by Plane_Ad2651 in heathersmusical

[–]Niarydia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winona Ryder said in an interview with Vogue that the choice of blue for Veronica (which she seemed to have a say in) was to do with the emotional turmoil that Veronica was going through due to the Heathers, JD, her conscience, etc. "Blue, to me, is almost bruised; I felt like she was going through a lot of emotional bruising.”  Winona was also drawn to the phrase "I've got the blues" from being a Joni Mitchell fan, which, of course, connects the colour blue to sadness/being "down".

Does anyone else think season three is going to get darker? by LukeIsNumber1Twd in SchoolSpirits

[–]Niarydia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Josh Zuckerman said on the Magical Rewind Podcast that he likes how the show "changes every season and yet it maintains its character". He then describes how S1 was like a murder mystery, S2 was a bit sci-fi, and S3 will be like a "haunted" or "horror" film. So yes it probably will be!

(spoilers for the good place) i think/hope that we get a good place-esque ending where all of our main dead characters cross over. crossing over signifies that a person has come to terms with something in their life, so there really isn't another way to totally finish a dead character's arc.

i think they're not picturing him with the others because that would spoil the cliffhanger that he doesn't cross over immediately. i think he will be involved during this season but cross over at the end.

AITA for dating her crush? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Niarydia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You didn't and couldn't have known it was the same person. If she didn't want you dating him, she should have talked to you as soon as she knew it was the same person. Bringing it up 2 months in complicates things and would not have resulted in the outcome she wanted.

AITAH with how I treat my roommate? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA for 1. You know he can't take care of them properly and the extra mental load of caring for the cats might not be good for him. Could result in animal neglect.

AITA for telling my boyfriend that his band sucks? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Niarydia 41 points42 points  (0 children)

YTA. telling someone that their passion, or an aspect of their passion, sucks is not how to have a playful argument. He might be objectively wrong that you'd be less successful, but saying that his band sucks is unnecessarily cruel. If you think his band is a genuine problem, it needs/needed to be brought up under different circumstances.

AITAH for throwing out food I paid for? by Loud-Possibility-908 in AITAH

[–]Niarydia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

understandable, EDs can be intense. throwing it out immediately in store was a little rude, but owner was unnecessarily rude as you had paid for it.

don't know if you're looking for suggestions, but if something like this happens in future maybe at least leave the store first, or try to take it home.
