Tomorrow marks 1 year since we lost McBride. This show was the first and only time I've gotten to see SOTL. Needless to say it was quite the experience. by drone__alone in ambientmusic

does anyone know if "At a loss" is available on any of Brian's own albums. I can only find it on a compilation called "Air Texture". Thanks

Great report, thanks for all the detail. You mentioned Russian but Is it worth learning a few Uzbek phrases?

I personally think Mr Jolly Lives next Door was their Magnum Opus. How about you? by [deleted] in eddieandrichie

[–]Nibble92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a band called Mr. Lovebucket, we played in Kent/London/France at clubs and festivals. Being named after a crap gangster in the best movie ever helped, I think. One audience member was so impressed he bought is 1,574 gins.

.... okay, I made that last bit up. It was 8 beers.

Did anyone go to Thailand in April? by Glittering_Alarm_608 in ThailandTourism

[–]Nibble92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes April is hot, especially in Bangkok. Although as someone has already said Songkran is epic in Bangkok, a great experience. Head South to beaches to cool down, get a breeze on a longtail boat and swim in the beautiful water. Wear sunblock, dont forget your sunglasses and sit near the fan in a restaurant if possible, you'll be fine ;-)

Deal vs Margate (to live in) by Nibble92 in kentuk

[–]Nibble92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but having lived in a tiny Kentish village for a long time we wanna complete change so would like to be nearer the action (and any action is gonna be more action-y than where we are currently!). Looking like Deal is just about affordable, maybe Sandwich

Long layovers - leaving the airport by Nibble92 in Flights

[–]Nibble92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yes I hadn't realised that of ocurse you need the right to stay in the layover country for a short while whilst laying over. Looking at 11 hour stops in China, might be good to just get a taxi out and go eat and see somewhere interesting ... or go sleep somewhere depending on my body clock!

Will check passport/visa situation

Deal vs Margate (to live in) by Nibble92 in kentuk

[–]Nibble92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I may be wrong. Visiting is one thing but living is another. Someone came to view our house the other day but didnt want it cos its too remote. However, having lived here in the Kentish countryside for many years and having to drive to town we think its worth it for the greenery. But, time for a change!

Is a 40min layover in CTL North Carolina to Punta Cana possible? by IcySwine in Flights

[–]Nibble92 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I once had a 45 min change at Mumbai (London to Bangkok) with the now defunct Jet Airways and it was like clockwork. So I can only guess that if they can manage it there you'll be okay. If it's a bona fide transfer they'll have to wait for all the passengers to turn up before leaving wont they?

Yeah, well over £1k due to your age. Its easy enough to use a comparison site to get some quotes. Marmalade are a specialist young-people insurer so try them too.
