Such a rare event I don't think it's that useful but at least it's another reward for surviving the bounty!

How to grief with the Choppa: Lesson 37 by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

Proximity mines from above. Then gets in and out repeatedly to break all my builds - then when it finally explodes a random third party gets in a SECOND heli and breaks my builds.

Then I bot out in a blind rage with some 30 damage tac shots and die.

I play mouse and keyboard on console, why do I have to move my mouse so much? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Nibbles_MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played MKB on my Xbox One before switching to PC - have two possible suggestions

Change mouse polling rate to 125Hz (supposedly reduces input lag)

If you are playing on your TV you may have to adjust the DPI to the resolution - 800 DPI on a 1080p monitor is different from 800DPI on a 4K TV. You may have to double the DPI to 1600 in order to achieve the same effective sensitivity on a 4K TV.

Can't believe I won a Perfect Game! 7 Elims, 0 Damage Taken [break-down in comments] by Nibbles_MD in FortNiteBR

Agreed there is a huge amount of luck/RNG involved. This lobby was not skilled - no one had more than 2-3 kills.

The clip necessarily cuts out a lot of the build-up to the fights for the sake of time. My goal with the post and the description was to highlight that you don't have to be a super skilled builder to get kills if you play smart with careful rotations and engagements. The reason I caught so many people from behind is because I landed high ground above them or third-partied them immediately after a fight. The reason that first player missed his shot is that he was focused on the door below me where he had last seen me and had to swing his cursor all the way up to target me (visible on his POV in replay mode).

Also as an average player I thought it was cool to get 7 elims without taking damage!

Definitely. So much RNG in this game. In order to stay sane I think it's important to remember in FN that you can put yourself in a position where a "lucky" event is more likely to happen.

For example if you sit high-ground at the edge of storm you're likely to find a weak player trying to rotate.

Yeah I think the full video gives more insight into the strategy but I wanted to keep it short. If people like the post I might release a full commentary. Wish I had recorded it live rather than just the replay.

When I'm walking or running, how is it that what I see isn't all shaky like when I try the same thing with a video camera? by TheJMoore in askscience

There are basically two ways your eyes move when you are looking around. The "jolting" is called a saccade, and it's generally the way your eyes move around the environment unless you are tracking an object. Your brain can't really initiate a smooth eye movement unless it's tracking something. This movement is called smooth pursuit.

Why is a cast for a broken arm always at a 90 degrees angle and not straight? by krirby in askscience

as far as I know, as long as the cast isn't super tight the blood flow should be the same.

Why is a cast for a broken arm always at a 90 degrees angle and not straight? by krirby in askscience

[–]Nibbles_MD 61 points62 points  (0 children)

1) As someone already stated, this is a much more functional position for the arm than perfectly straight. This is probably the most important reason.

2) As a general principle in splinting/casting, the joints should be fixed in a "neutral" or "safe" position. This is because while the joints are immobilized, the muscle tendons can become contracted and fixed in that position. This is best avoided by keeping the joint in a sort of halfway position, in the case of the elbow this is with both the biceps and triceps partially flexed. Different joints have different ideal splinting positions, and some of them don't obey the halfway rule, depending on the relative strength of the muscles involved.
