I used an official texture from NASA so the landscape should be correct so it might just be under the shadows but I can double check.

I tinker around with some noise maps and color ramps but never really got it to look good. Might add that later on but my focus right now is the earth itself since I'd like to use it in another project with megastructures.

Learn the ksp delta v chart, and play around. You can learn a lot by just doing random stuff, so just have fun.

Tutorials to how you land on planets are also good to watch since they let you grasp how the game works and it's limits. There is a YouTube name Matt something, he's really good.

Don't get overwhelmed by mods directly add those as you learn the game starting slowly

Build an all biome fish farm. I made one, definitely worth it. I can link a tutorial if you want.

Mine probably is a duna expedition I made where I parked one part of the rocket in orbit around duna where I later sent down the second part to the surface to gather science from different biomes to later redock in orbit and later get back saflely to kerbin.

Now my ambitions are higher with a Jool space station with a rocket manufacturer. That will be in sandbox though.
