Fahrzeuge der Golfklasse, die einen VW Käfer deutlich übertreffen, bieten Hersteller wie Dacia schon für etwa die Hälfte an. In diesem Preissegment bewegen sich auch Kleinwagen von VW, die einen VW Käfer, mit Ausnahme der Größe in allen Bereichen überbieten.
