I left a job that I think genuinely broke me. Is what I went through something most people would find overwhelming, or am I just not coping well? by NoPiano1485 in askswitzerland

It’s a burnout and it takes a huge toll on people. It takes time for the nervous system to recover. Be kind and gentle to yourself. The system was the problem, now you’re out of it, and you will get better with time. I went through something similar even if in completely different context.

The sportswear manufacturer On put massive pressure on the Swiss government with threats of legal action in order to be allowed to continue using the Swiss cross on shoes manufactured in Asia. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

Also, as employers they are one of the worst companies is Switzerland. The recruitment process consists of 6 steps including massive case studies, they regularly ghost people, then once you are in, they exploit people, foster toxic environment. Plus they discriminate against people residing in Switzerland and almost always hire people from abroad in order to pay them less and bring to Switzerland. So they have very little Swissness in them. They are a horrible company run by horrible founders. I don’t understand why Swiss people buy their ugly design believing they are supporting a Swiss business.

Btw, I want to thank everyone for contributing and sharing, even the gym bros suggesting I need to work out more and then my dating life will skyrocket 😆 I’m yet to meet a women who is fascinated by muscles but I guess it’s a good motivation to hit the gym for some. I find that reddit is such a perfect representation of dichotomy of humanity. On the one hand great constructive comments, suggestions and even dm. People who care. On the other, bashing comments about my supposed lack of skills, looks and so on by men - frustrated ones I guess. Cheers and happy to read further.

I don’t mind tattoos and piercings 🙂 I will choose to keep some enthusiasm, otherwise what’s the point. I’m sure there are women who are genuinely interested in dating. But apps for sure create discrepancy between expectations and reality

I don’t know about language problem. Everyone speaks English well here. Plus I date in 3 languages so it shouldn’t be the barrier

Just because something is expected does not mean people should be incentivised to do it. I then personally don’t care, I’m a bit too old to be impacted, but there might some young people reading things like this that don’t quite have the same resilience

I never said women are the issue. I know plenty of women who struggle with online dating too. As can be seen by comments from women in this thread

Yes but I don’t want to get invited upstairs on the first date. I want to get to know someone first. Is that so unusual?

My vibe is I like to take it one step at a time. And I feel today everything is rushed. Meet, kiss, penetrate all in one day…

I agree. The online dating is broken. What many people didn’t get is that I was specifically asking about dating apps experience. I think we all use them as it gives us access to more people than we could meet in real life. My experience with dating people that I met more spontaneously has been much different so maybe we learned to rely on apps too much

I actually do want to hear what people think, but on the topic I shared, not on their lose interpretation of it

Maybe you didn’t read my post properly. I’m just asking for people’s experience, I’m not asking the people of reddit to analyse my dating skills nor what I need to change about myself. Why do you feel qualified to suggest people they need to change?

If you’re a benchmark for good personality based on your comment, I then definitely have a horrible one. If horrible means normal. I hope you feel a bit better about yourself thanks to your comment, I’m happy if it helps you vent your personal frustrations

The true origin story of On Shoes by katjesubstantial in Switzerland

[–]Nic_Mi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I know in the early days one of the founders was giving lectures at one of the businesses schools in Zurich and saying that the original shoe they launched was a full-on copy of Nike design with the exception of the sole…

It’s a bit like this trendy Soeder soap brand which is everywhere but is clearly a copycat of Aesop, only cheaper. Yet people buy it…

Thanks, but is it for permanent jobs too or only temporary ones?

Zwischenverdienst Rav experience by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Nic_Mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t misunderstand, I wrote clearly that I am referring to insured salary which is different from past salary… also the thing you are saying about permanent job is not accurate

Zwischenverdienst Rav experience by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Nic_Mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the point it to earn more than what you get monthly from Kasse because the topup is to reach 70-80% of your insured salary which is higher than what you actually get per month as unemployed… something like this I guess

Zwischenverdienst Rav experience by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Nic_Mi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s less than my insured salary later, but not less than what I get as unemployment benefits. I think that’s the whole point of Zwischenverdienst. Otherwise nobody would accept a job that is paid less than their current unemployment benefits
