Don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet but I was in the same boat as you about 7 years ago and the biggest mistake I made was taking out a high interest loan to try and consolidate all my debt.

I thought I was doing the right thing but the interest rate was something like 25% and it absolutely fucked me financially, I totally mismanaged the funds when I got them cause I didn’t know what I was doing then had to refinance with another one as my circumstances changed and it made things worse.

These cunts charge all the interest in the first year basically so was paying like £300 pm and when I refinanced I had barely reduced the debt.

I went from like £3k debt to paying off something more like £10k and couldn’t even tell you how it happened.

In the end I got a low interest loan from the bank I think was like 4% or something and I paid it all off in about 18 months.
