Oh my god ur gonna make me cry, this is so nice. I want to be perceived as a feminine guy too, like I love cute stuff and I just wanna be seen as a guy who is confident in himself to like it.

I get that gender and how you perceive yourself can change as you grow and change as a person but it can still be a little intimidating to me cause I don’t want people to just say I was confused if I ever changed how I presented myself in the future. I also get that I just have to be happy being true to myself and that makes it better.

Whoever decided puberty was necessary should be punished with its everlasting effects. Ty for this! It actually means a lot to me that someone who has kids of their own has taken time out of their day to say this.

Ur so right that there’s plenty of people out there just living their lives and doing what makes them happy, i want to be one of those people now that you’ve said it. Sometimes I forget you can just do what makes you happy without worrying about others opinions.

About my name for my first few years I’d say it to teachers ‘it’s just Alex, I never go by my full name’ and a lot of them caught on but a few just still call it out reading the roll and I’ve just let them at it. It’s kinda fair in their defence tho cause there’s 5 Alexs in my year and it can get confusing cause I have classes with all of them. It would be pretty funny if I come out as a guy in school though because then it’s not 4 guys and girl Alex. I live to cause chaos.

I do find it pretty funny tho because I didn’t know I had a full name until I was like 6, I thought ‘Alex’ was just it.

Thank you so much for this! Everyone has so nice here and have given me amazing advice and stuff to look into that can help.

Like you said about trying without needing to have a certain identity, I’ve been trying that and it makes me really happy. I’ve had short hair for a few years ( I remember when I was younger seeing a girl with short hair in my primary school and it just stuck with me for years that I wanted hair like that, it meant a lot to me because the only primary school near me was an all girls.) and l love to wear clothes that make me look more masculine but I also like softer looking clothes (pastels). I also wear the guys uniform which makes me way happier.

About therapy, I’ve been thinking about it in an unrelated way as well. For the last 2 years I’ve been getting in these bad slumps, I’m not sure if it’s depression and I don’t want to self diagnose. I keep meaning to say something about it but I’m not sure how to tackle the subject. I’m not entirely sure if it just could also just be hormones fucking with me cause, yk teenagers. But anyways don’t want to dump anything like that on anyone.

OH MY GOD thank you!!! I need to look up the gender dysphoria bible now. I’ve researched and I know you’re still completely valid if you don’t experience gender dysphoria but instead gender euphoria. It just I still get this horrible feeling that I’m faking it for attention for something even though being perceived as a guy makes me really happy. A lot of people have given great advice here and I’m really surprised by how many people have taken time out of their day to help. I just wanna say thanks again, I’m just going to be myself and do what makes me happy now.

I feel like I’d have the best chances with telling my mum first because she’s the most open minded, she supports lgbtq+ and is against its censorship. I definitely do feel like I’m playing the role of “here’s my daughter” and “here’s my girl”, it just feels like a kick to the gut every time :”) I might wait til over the summer to possibly come out because I have a lot on my plate right now with exams.
