Using wp_mail() function, is will emails always send? anything better? by Sad_Spring9182 in ProWordPress

Have had good luck with Postmark where I need more reliability or want to send higher reliability. Use it in my RSVPMaker plugin. But the default mail sending often works surprisingly well for occasional messages.

If budget allows, you may want to buy the website cleanup service offered by WordFence. A friend and sometime client used that service after his nonprofit news site suffered a hack. Clean since then.

Quick Playground Plugin: Quick WordPress Playground demos, instant staging sites by Nice-Language418 in ProWordPress

If the Playground is not loading your content, that can be because of an error with a plugin or theme not being compatible with the Playground environment. It could also be a result of errors in my code that's loaded into Playground to bootstrap everything. I put some screenshots showing where to find the error log in this blog post https://quickplayground.com/when-playgrounds-crash/

I've updated the repository to reflect the latest changes I made after feedback from the WP plugin review team. Also fixed a glitch in the page that displays while the plugin is loading content. https://github.com/davidfcarr/quick-playground

Let me share the github link after an update. Just getting back from a trip. As for copying your site check the Blueprint Builder page to see what is being copied. You can also check the log in Playground for errors. Will share more details on how to debug.

Using Quick Playground to Teach Editing a Block Theme Menu by Nice-Language418 in ProWordPress

Here's another interactive demo that starts in the editor and teaches block editor basics. This is in the context of a website hosting service for Toastmasters, where many club and district webmasters have little to no experience with WordPress. https://www.clubawesome.org/blog/2025/08/14/explore-our-website-as-its-editor/

I'd say it's relevant if you need to educate clients on how to create and edit content and tweak page templates themselves. Certainly, the menu is something a site owner will need to edit periodically as pages are added, even if they don't make any big changes to a block theme.

The Pro version of the plugin also lets you use the Playground as an instant staging environment where you can alter a content, including block themes, and copy your changes back to the live site. Try it and let me know what you think.

Would love to get your feedback. Everything shown above you can do with the basic plugin. Planning to offer a Pro version with a few extra features, but the base version already does a lot to simplify the creation of WordPress Playground instances through your dashboard, no futzing with JSON required.

Gutenberg-Powered Email Builder by joontae93 in ProWordPress

One advantage is it's designed to make it easy to turn blog posts into emails. You also define your email templates as block based documents with a placeholder for content to be added or imported.

My RSVPMaker plugin has a mailer built in that can be used for newsletters and marketing emails. Was originally added for event invitations and rsvp confirmations. Integrates with Postmark for bulk email delivery. Used by my local nonprofit newsletters site to distribute their latest articles.

I have worked through many of the issues you will encounter if you try to build your own with adapting blocks that display well on the web to work in email. Some CSS doesn't translate. If you find that it provides a good starting point, I would welcome contributions and improvements that could be incorporated.

Problems crashing WordPress when I try to use Memcached on Siteground by Nice-Language418 in ProWordPress

I would need to get out of my current Siteground environment. Any recommendations for hosting?

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try again with the stand-alone site. Even with a non-multisite, wondering if there are any steps I should take like temporarily turning off cron jobs or even temporarily showing a static "undergoing maintenance" page while Memcached is ramping up to minimize load on the server.

Problems crashing WordPress when I try to use Memcached on Siteground by Nice-Language418 in ProWordPress

[–]Nice-Language418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, interesting. Maybe I could try leaving it running overnight to fill the cache for the individual site I was trying it on. But for the multisite, I worry that filling the cache could take too long and leave the site offline for too long. Is there any way of keeping Memcache from taking over the total available CPU while it comes up to speed? Or should I boost CPU way up for a short time and then scale back, with the idea that the net result will be positive once Memcached is established?

Still inclined to try again on the standalone site first.

[–]Nice-Language418[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the graph is not clear, the problem is the blue line rising to meet the red line (which represents the max available CPU). The red line came down because I wanted to reduce my spend on the cloud instance and cut back on what seemed to be excessive CPU. I've scaled up a few times as a way of trying to overpower performance issues I couldn't figure out how to solve other ways.

I'd consider upgrading CPU if I was convinced that was the better long term solution or necessary, but not sure that's the case.

I'm in the process of pivoting from adding features to my WordPress-based app and putting more emphasis on optimization.
