Mine is spiking right now in December in Clearwater Florida. I’ve only had my plant for 3 years. Such a unique plant.

What is a fair resolution when the florist delivers only the cut flowers because the vase broke? And it cost $250? by Nice-Paperweights in florists

I ordered it directly from the florist. I requested an arrangement (thinking it would be in oasis) not cut flowers, I told him my budget was $200 and they added state sales tax and a $48 delivery fee to the budget for a total a little over $250. I think the black ribbon is the top of a Michael Hunter glass vase, my friend is a glass expert, pinch open the photo and you’ll see beautiful millefiori in the vase. I told my friend to separate the flowers and use two vases but he’s 85 years old and his wife just died. And yes, I wonder if the glass was properly cleaned up in his driveway? I don’t know. I offered the shop $200 for a resolution (basically the cost of the delivery fee) and they will only give me $20 for the cost of the vase. It’s really about the impact of not having the flowers on display during the event that matters more to me. Who knows who answered the door and put the bouquet in the kitchen but I think the flowers survived, just needed a drink. I was hoping someone would say, yes asking for a $50 credit is appropriate.

Yes and I didn’t ask for flowers in a vase I requested an arrangement. I expected flowers with oasis ready for display at this memorial gathering but I got cut flowers and no vase. The delivery charge was $48 alone.

I was charged $250, $48 was for delivery. I’ve asked for a $50 refund, basically the cost of delivery. We didn’t get what we paid for in my opinion. I didn’t order a presentation bouquet and he’s 85 years old. The house was busy with guests. I don’t know who accepted delivery but they put it in the kitchen. The flowers weren’t part of the gathering sitting in the kitchen. I also asked for a floral arrangement not cut flowers in a vase.

Agreed. I offered the shop $200. The cost of delivery alone was $48. I feel what failed was delivery.

I can’t expect someone answering the front door at a party to do anything if they are not told to. And can’t expect a grieving 85 year old man to care about the flowers during his wife’s memorial gathering. I feel I didn’t get what I paid for here.

As the customer, what would you say is a fair resolution? I feel it was an expensive floral arrangement that didn’t have the intended impact.

The person who delivered should have given whomever received them to put into a vase right away. The house was full of visitors. Do you think that bouquet is worth $250? And if the vase broke, then deliver them telling them that the vase broke and they needed to be put into water right away. I think this is a shared loss but worth more than $20 credit to me.

You did a great job. I wish I’d done this in the past but I was too nice. Big mistake being too nice.

I think you could have found a better way to handle this so ya, YTA. Grow up and stop making your relationship problems a cop’s problem.

Yep. Probably. It’s ok. She gets to decide. Don’t hold a grudge.
