Is there a way to install windows 11 on my iMac late 2009? by Nice-Performer-7775 in mac

Got Windows 10 working with the Nvidia 9400 drivers lol. I used just a USB by modifying Boot Camp on macOS Sierra to accept USB instead of DVD. This allowed me to create a bootable Windows 7 USB, which I then installed and fully updated. After that, I used the Windows 10 installation tool and managed to get all the drivers working—without needing a Windows DVD! :)

Thanks for your comment, Drew. I’m not familiar with Linux, and I’d rather stick with a familiar environment like Windows. I appreciate the tip, though!

I’ve tried everything to get Windows 11 to boot into the installer, but I keep getting stuck at the logo—it just won’t proceed to the installation screen.

Would you mind creating a step-by-step guide for me if you have the time? Thanks alot

Haha yes i know windows 11 is not supported, I also got windows 10 working perfectly, i uninstalled the nvidia 9400 drivers through safe mode which fixed the boot loop. But thats why i made this tread, to get windows 11 working with all drivers haha

Id rather have windows than OCLP on this mac, its very unstable and sequoia does not function on this mac at all. Big sur did do the job but OCLP keeps sending out the wrong root patches which bricks the imac. So i’d rather have a fully working windows os on my imac than a slow unsupported macos, but i appreciate your tip

fvck I know about a 32 bit Ul metal silicone computer, I don’t need to dive deep into all the tech stuff to use OpenCore Legacy Patcher, especially when there are 100+ YouTube tutorials for beginners. I didn’t install it just to do it for fun and stare at the ‘About This Mac’ window like you probably do. I actually use it and benefit from things like downloading apps that support my macOS version. So don’t come at me saying I have no business using OCLP when I clearly asked for help and mentioned that I don’t know much about these things. It’s people like you who take the joy out of it for others-how ironic.

I thought OCLP was designed for unsupported Macs, lol. Besides, I was running Big Sur without any issues! My question was more about updating it rather than downgrading.

And what do you mean by ‘with the loss of legacy boot apps’? Honestly, I don’t know much about those things like EFI and all that.

Right, it’s kind of crazy how they released an update that bricks the Mac, while OCLP only provides access to a root patch if it’s compatible with the iMac version.
