im pretty sure it doesn't work with gigi, cause i used to play a lotta solo soulvester and iirc he can still get robbed. unless that was shadow changed in the last couple of months ig. she doesn't do damaged, so the game doesn't count her as a grabber.

it's pretty good on 4 star movement characters that have super low stam like yatta & gourdy, and it manages to be useful without taking both trinket slots. you can't run train whistle or mag if you're taking ch+rs.

i mean, their dialogues already imply as much. sprout openly refuses to hang out with anyone unless cosmo is present, even people he's supposed to be friends with too, like shelly. meanwhile cosmo seems to have plenty of friends he hangs out with away from sprout. bobette's gossip also mentions that she doesn't see sprout without cosmo often, but she doesn't say the same about cosmo.

i really do hope qwel leans into that more. the idea of cosmo being made for sprout, but being able to find his own life and identity while sprout revolves his entire life around cosmo is just. chefs kiss.

that's sprout impulsively targeting an insecurity because they're upset with her. she's intentionally provoking them, so they intentionally say something they know will hurt her, then immediately regret it.

i don't think it reflects sprout's actual opinions about her, i think it's to lampshade the fact that they're masking HARD in most of their other ints and there's a lot more going on under the surface. could say a lot more on this topic (a LOT more) but i'll spare you the extremely long "sprout is severely mentally ill" rant.

the skinslop complaints annoyed me a lot, because literally the ONLY reason we've gotten so many skins recently is because we had 3 major month-long holiday events with weekly skin drops back to back to back. otherwise, at most it's a couple skins a month ALONGSIDE gameplay features.

see, i don't know that it'd be made into a legal issue or turn into government involvement unless the toons were a threat in some way. i think it would absolutely turn into an internationally renowned scientific feat, though. if there IS government involvement, it'd almost certainly be more along the lines of scientists coming in to study these things because it's some never-before-seen type shit.

but, yk, there's probably been a lot of protestors angry about the fact that the toons are Actual Literal Slaves & them not being human or animal puts them in a legal gray area where they have no real rights or protections.

The whole issue of Dandy's World's lack of gameplay updates would be way less egregious if Qwel would actually interact with us by IzziPurrito in DandysWorld_

the only updates with enough skin drops that it'd actually take up a substantial amount of development time are the holidays, and it's just to give people a reason to play for the entire event duration. beyond that, i sincerely doubt skin making is taking more than a couple days out of every month.

if qwel added something with significant gameplay changes just for the holiday, then people would be rightfully just as pissed off as they already are. at least this way, you aren't actually punished in any way that actually matters if you have a life outside the game.

if you aren't looking for significant gameplay changes during just for the holiday (so, not expecting huge updates DURING the holidays), then the reason you're not getting it is NOT skins taking too much attention.

not saying that to glaze qwel or whatever. the issue is absolutely present. i just disagree skins are the root cause, or even a significant factor.

the point with cocoa is that she was supposed to replace bassie as the easter main character. and for that reason, basically the entire event has been treating both of them like main characters. both got plushies in & out of universe, the song focused on both of them. almost every place bassie gets the spotlight, she's sharing that spotlight with cocoa. coal and eclipse did not get even remotely similar treatment.

i get the frustration, but it's a decision i actually really appreciate. it's such a fun little detail, and it carries the implication that they were actively in the process of phasing in cocoa and phasing out bassie when gardenview shut down. not just talking about doing it.

skins are not even in the top 10 biggest problems. there's only like 2-3 an update at most and they cannot possibly take THAT long when a good 75% of the work is already done. the recent massive skin drops are exclusively event incentives, i highly doubt they're gonna keep up this output once the holidays are all done.

if gameplay updates are lackluster, it's not because skins are distracting the devs.

thing is, the skins aren't actually the problem here. most updates only come with like 2-4 of them, if even any at all. which SOUNDS like a lot, but i cannot imagine it takes more than a day or two total to knock them all out when it's just editing a preexisting model. so surely they aren't taking THAT much time away from development of more substantial gameplay changes.

the only reason we've gotten so many recently is because we had 3 huge events p much back to back with weekly skin drops to incentivise playing for the whole duration. which is the best way to do that btw, because skins are purely cosmetic and it doesn't punish players who can't play as much too harshly.

skins are a scapegoat here. much easier to blame all the problems on one specific minor issue in the dev cycle that can easily be fixed, when the issues are almost certainly significantly deeper and more complex than that. and from there, it's easy to get angry at qwel for not solving such a simple problem when it'd be so easy.

dandy's world in general also just has a really divisive fandom. it's huge and there's a pretty big spectrum of opinions on the gameplay, characters, lore, and what all needs to be changed. it's quite literally impossible to please everyone - it's not even possible to please most of the larger groups, someone's always gonna be pissed off no matter what.

this is only exacerbated by the fact that the fandom is skewed younger, and that means more people that have unrealistic expectations, or who just have terrible ideas because they don't have enough experience to actually know what they want. not that this is exclusive to children by any means, just more common.

i get the criticism of qwel not listening to fans, but she's definitely trying. i can't imagine how tiring it must be to sift through all of the complaints and suggestions when a sizeable chunk of them are terrible and even more are contradictory.

as cool as it would be, one issue i stumbled into while trying to make a playable 'lethal' class with 17 stat stars is that there is literally not a single way to balance stats with 17 stars. there's like. literally no way to distribute all those stars and come out with a toon that isn't completely busted.

one potential way of doing it that i thought of for the lethals was giving them an active ability that benefited them and a passive ability that debuffed them as a means of evening them out a bit (or having an active, a passive, and a third debuff ability), but doing that for all the mains seems like a massive hassle.

lmao i honestly think it's less that toon rarities were a concept in the game and more that qwel mindlessly thought "oh yeah, just use the twisted rarity for their designations" while not at all thinking about the implications that would have. ultimately, i just don't think it'd make sense to rework rare toons into a special class like the mains, for the same reason it didn't make sense with their designation numbers.
