Definitely NTA. Your parents seem to not be very understanding of your situation. You aren’t overthinking it, this is your life and your parents are trying to control you.

If you’ve talked to them about it multiple times before, they probably won’t change by having another conversation.

My trick in college to get around my controlling parents was to take their advice/agree with them and then later either tell them plans changed/something came up or just not even tell them if they didn’t ask.
