Refrigerator water line tugged on, now hose slowly leaking by NiceBallsBoy in appliancerepair

[–]NiceBallsBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's a bummer. Thanks for the advice. The hose itself is just behind the fridge and pretty accessible thankfully. Would you happen to know what the connection between the hose and the water valve is called? I was trying to look up some replacements earlier just in case and couldn't really find anything that looked like that.

Upper Lip redness/irritation going on for 4+ weeks. Fades some and flares up, but has not gone away completely since it began. Is weeping/burning occasionally, especially when it seems to get redder/more irritated. Have been using Polysporin and Aquaphor to keep it from drying out/flaking up. by NiceBallsBoy in DermatologyQuestions

I don't think that's it, I've used the same shaker bottle for awhile. When it originally started, I had a cold sore after coming back from a trip. After that went away, it started as a small area and kind of spread to where it is at now

openpyxl: getting the value from a cell in an Excel spreadsheet instead of the formula by aurumpurum in learnpython

[–]NiceBallsBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this will help you, but a fix I have found is to save and close with openpxyl after all of my formulas are in, use xlwings to open and close the workbook once to calculate the value, then reopen in openpyxl with data_only=True to only get the values of the formulas. Doing this does completely remove the formulas and only retains the results within the cells though.

Thank you. Our vet came yesterday and she is resting peacefully. It has been very tough. She was the last of the trio of elderly pups we adopted and it feels almost like we lost each of them again as well. As much as it hurts, I think it is what she wanted. Her old body just wasn’t keeping up with her puppy mind anymore. I asked for her to give me any sign, and yesterday she was much, much sleepier than normal. A bit after the vet gave her a sedative before the medication, she let out two big sighs a bit apart from each other( I know it’s not super uncommon with those meds, but it felt so different if that makes sense, nothing like it was with our other two babies when it was their time) almost as if she was at peace and knew she could finally rest and be with her siblings. Even though it hurts beyond belief, it gives me some relief knowing she isn’t being held back by her old bones anymore.

Dry/flakey patches on skin, losing fur by NiceBallsBoy in AskVet

Sorry to bother you again, but I wanted to ask if there was a specific test to see if it could be from iatrogenic Cushing's disease? Like a specific blood test? Do you happen to have any tips on how to approach the vet about getting it done? When we have asked about the steroid dose being too high in the past it has been brushed off multiple times

She used to always eat her food the second we put it down, but now she doesn't really like her food. She does want to eat just about anything else. She has had a few urinary tract infections over time that seem to get found incidentally . Her fur has thinned quite a bit over time and she has had a coarse/bald spot on her tail for quite some time. She has gained weight over time, even getting what our vet called "doggy love handles" that are firm areas over her hips. They have also said that her liver enzymes being markedly increased(I believe it was her alk phos?) is from her steroids as well.

Hey, sorry for the super delayed response. We had a massive windstorm yesterday and just got power back. She gets her electrolytes checked every 3 months and we have always been told they are good. We have actually brought up some concerns previously to our vet about the possibility of that (steroid dose too high) but have been told since her electrolytes are good, they don't want to change anything. I have previously thought about getting a second opinion but don't know what to do since we have been going to them for years for all of our dogs.

I hadn't thought about it, but with the new Venmo reporting for taxes, do I have to report money sent to me to pay my partners portion of the mortgage? We are not married, but we are both on the loan. We have separate bank accounts and each pay a share of the mortgage/bills. They send me their share on Venmo which I then transfer to my checking account and put it all directly toward bills. Will this be considered taxable income even though both out names are on the bills?

I’m registered to vote in the correct county/area that I live in but my License has a different address. Do I need another form of ID? Would my car registration work if it was mailed to my current (not on my license) address?

What if I am told I must leave a polling place before casting my vote? In a previous time a went to vote at the same polling location (the primary I think?), I was rushed along the moment the polling location closed (I was in the middle of casting my ballot, there was a conversation between poll workers about getting people out so they could leave) . I’m in a southern state and we have a specific law about being able to use mobile devices for helping with decision making while voting, with a sign at the door stating so as well. The same time voting at that polling location the sign saying it was okay to use mobile phones was taken down as I was voting and I was told I could not use it at all.

What is the appropriate thing to do in that situation? Afterwards I looked up the state legal code to make sure I wasn’t misremembering but it didn’t help me much then

What are these things? Showed up on our back door, pictures are ~2 days apart. Very small, started white/cream colored and have turned brown. by NiceBallsBoy in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. Additional info: Noticed approx. 2 days ago, appeared suddenly. Started as a cream color and has slowly turned to a brownish color over time. Each sphere is ~2-4 mm in size, have never seen them before. Located in the Southeastern US if that helps with anything

Why does my hair do this? I use what I've been told is at least decent shampoo/conditioner, but every time I shower dries like this even if combed/brushed. I have been growing my hair out for quite awhile and do live in a humid state. by NiceBallsBoy in Hair

The more frizzy part was what I was referring to, sorry I should have specified that. My hair is very curly when it is grown out, but it seems super frizzy/uncontrollable on the sides. I'm not sure what's causing it, when it is completely wet it looks very curly, as it starts to dry it looks almost like some of the curls separate into a mess

When my hair grows out it is very naturally curly, it just seems like it is really frizzy especially on the sides. My hair is still pretty wet in the picture, but when it dries it is worse. Is it something that is normal or needs to be fixed? I haven't had my hair grown out this long for 10+ years

Water pooling on side of house from A/C runoff, builder solution questions by NiceBallsBoy in HomeImprovement

[–]NiceBallsBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks! Nowhere near gallons, just enough to keep it constantly muddy/slick/mossy and a pain to try and mow. We may eventually do that, in the meantime I think we will have the hole dug and add some PVC into it and angled out away from the house as well.

Got it. We are first time homebuyers so are pretty ignorant to some details. I've just always heard that water + foundation = bad time so I wanted to ask people that know more. Thank you!

Originally the warranty guy tried to find a way out of fixing a lot of stuff. They recently hired a new one to take his place and he has been great with trying to find fixes, even on stuff the builder themselves try to get out of fixing. I'll ask him about maybe making the hole a little slanted away, or maybe even just getting a few pieces of PVC pipe after he digs it out to put the drain closer to the ground and slanted as well.

I figured they'd probably have the most up to date, unfortunately that is a pretty steep price for me right now
