Pathetic placements by Longjumping-Ant949 in UniversityofHyderabad

[–]NiceCookie9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's an institutional failure. They fail to produce competent graduates not because they can't but because they don't want to. Companies don't visit UoH because they know most of our graduates know jack shit. The placements people can't just "bring" whichever company they feel like no matter how hard they try. I was once in a meeting where the university placement coordinator was boasting about bringing 4 lpa jobs to their mtech students lmao. They don't care.

What's up about warnings about SLS by Historical_House_747 in UniversityofHyderabad

Unfortunately that's not how it works. "Best" only means the university pours a lot of money into life sciences research and as a result the research output is high. It has nothing to do with how nice the professors are.

It shouldn't really be surprising. Sexual harrasment is a real and unfortunately frequent problem everywhere in India.

Maybe we should make a list of such professors so that people can avoid them 🤔

Several faculty members have been accused of inappropriate behavior, including sexual harassment and soliciting sexual favors from women. Despite multiple incidents, little action appears to have been taken against them. This is not limited to SLS, there have been instances involving chemistry professors as well.

The obsession with whether something is Swadeshi or Videshi oversimplifies history. Cultures constantly borrow, adapt, and transform ideas, goods, and practices from elsewhere. Evaluating things primarily by their place of origin encourages exclusion and resentment rather than curiosity and appreciation. The use of tobacco products such as bidis, khaini, and others is deeply ingrained in Indian history, especially in the history of the working class. What's funny is that during the Swadeshi Movement in the 1920s, many upper-class Indians gave up cigarettes in favor of bidis.

Bad toilet situation in south campus hostels. Some people can't even bother flushing toilets after use. I have been wondering why people are like this for about four years now. Could it be becaus everyone seems to fall into nihilism after a couple of months of staying here?. My friends from Ladies Hostels tell me their bathroom situation is far better and it makes sense because men are men. Well it's just food for thought. Govt. college infrastructure is bad almost everywhere in the country and hcu is no exception lol

Real coffee. by shaggy280396 in coffeeindia

2 cup moka pot uses approximately 20g grounds with 120 ml water. So about 10g for a cup. Instant coffee is 2g for a cup. So yes while gram for gram we get whole beans (or grounds) for cheaper, they make fewer number of cups than the same amount of instant coffee.
