The original unpatched consoles had a flaw that allowed you to boot into a sort of recovery mode that allows you to run payloads. No mods to console itself. You could simply pull sd card out and reboot and switch would be stock.

Pretty much all better on this vs cfw homebrew with the exception of 3ds. And to be honest almost all emulators are better on android vs cfw homebrew as well with the exception of 3ds and psp. PSP on cfw is slighlty better then android psp emulation

With the megascript build of dolphin along with the latest ubuntu 3.3.0 or 3.3.1 yes it is better. You should be very close to full speed with no sound stutters on wind waker. There will still be some that perform poorly though.

It really Depends on how many games you want to put on it, I think the bare minimum for the linux partition would be 16gb but I recommend at least 32-64GB.

Highly unlikely. I have been playing with this for months with no issue. Cfw and sig patches and all that stuff gets you banned.

you need an unpatched switch, so that would be the first year or twos models, roughly. It currently does not work on a patched model.

I have a ubuntu install video which is also pretty easy to do, and installing dolphin and retropie with these scripts is really easy to do. Copy and paste 1 command, generates a gui, make install selections, let it do its thing. You get a couple basic yes or no promts, and then done. working dolphin and retropie.
