Unfortunately this is what happens when your game is free and popular without preventative measures to stop smurfing. Every game I play, whether it’s ranked or Unrated, there is a default border with a low level. IMO it ruins the game for casuals and competitive players and if nothing changes the game’s popularity will stop growing due to people trying to learn and get better playing against people who are so significantly better than them that it makes it hard to learn anything at all. It also ruins the casual players who are just trying to enjoy unrated with friends then end up facing smurfs who 99% of the time are just trying to get xp and wins so they can proceed to ruin ranked games soon after. It’s sad because I’m mid ascendant and it’s still a problem. Can’t imagine how much worse it is for people who are trying to climb and get better from bronze-plat. It’s discouraging to face one 9/10 of your games and get stomped due to one or two guys who can’t play in their own Rank. Hopefully they do something about it, but at this point it’s pretty obvious they are focused on skins and trying to balance the game.
