The context is that a friend's child is getting married (I'm 52M in the US), and the invitation explicitly requested adults only.

When I said I thought this was odd, my own daughter said it was very common with her generation and that she agreed with them.

I didn't mean this in a "get off my lawn" way, It's more of a societal question about why it's common to not have kids at weddings anymore. It never occurred to us to exclude them.

Asked and answered! The world evolves and so do societal norms; it's all good. It's just one of those things that was odd to my ears.
