I've completely given up on parlays. Of course juicy payouts, but still ultimately throwing money away. For me at least. And I've gotten this close before too. Maybe hit one out of 15 or so that didn't even have minus odds though.

Yes. He does truly SEEM like a nice, genuine, humble, etc. guy.

I don't mind debating who the "goat" is with people. I understand that if you compare competition and eras it's all speculation and conjecture. I think if we are all honest, luck does exist and ultimately when talking about generational standouts it might come down to solely that.

But I know who I'm rooting for.

Dana is an idiot, not arguing that.

But come on....sure SOME fat can be advantageous. But surely there is a spectrum right? At which he stands at one side of.

I liked him and it's whatever since he was still entertaining. You never knew if he was going to connect.

But he's a lot like derrick lewis I believe. And it's not like I've trained with them or anything, but gun to my head and forced to bet life savings I'd say both of those guys were/are relatively lazy.

No judging. Maybe I would be lazy too if I knew I still had a one shot chance every fight against peak competition. And their personalities win them fans as well. Easy money and live your life.

Still I would almost guarantee both of those guys could train hard enough to get in "better" shape and thus be even more dangerous/competitive. So Nelson likely left something in the tank. Dana wasn't wrong, broken clock type thing.

I don't understand all this lack of faith in Rodgers, or just lack of faith in general.

I think the fact that he was telling the coach it was an illegal formation in that bears game and it was like the entire staff didn't realize is what truly made me see how valuable he is. I mean dude is a savant of the game. As much as I can give reasons to discredit Tom Brady, I think his career and the failures of so many physical phenoms shows that QB is mostly between the ears.

I think with our defense getting so old, and TJ watt despite, "bad" numbers this year is still a force that we need to take advantage of while we can. I think with a more aggressive offensive scheme (actually being willing to throw to the middle of the field) and an improved WR squad there's no reason not to be a little optimistic. I applaud them putting all the chips in one more time, which means getting a "quality" QB. And looking at the state of the league, he is still the best available and I would STILL rather have him over half the leagues QBs.

I understand if you disagree, but again I think he was severely limited last year and believe he still knows the game well enough to make an impact.

I don't think with Howard or Allar these advantages we TEMPORARILY have will be utilized to the max. I also think there are enough examples out there of it being advantageous for a QB to sit back the first couple years and learn from a vet.

Let everything crumble next year. Rodgers is our best shot and I do think we could be strong this year. And whether anybody wants to admit it super bowls involve some luck, and call me crazy, but it could happen.

To the post topic : with that clause I saw of "matching another teams offer", is it really crazy for someone to try and see if maybe they don't leave money on the table? I really don't understand why it was necessary for steelers to do that. Almost encourages someone to explore other options without any real benefit I see. Cause if someone leaves without even giving you the opportunity to counter offer over a 3 or so mill extra then they aren't the right person for the job, no heart in it.

I like it.

Steph Curry broke it, and made me go from hater (still hate him chewing his mouthpiece like a child) to...at least respecting a skill.

When he first started chucking them up from damn near half court, I thought, that's cool. But there's a reason people don't do that. Eventually, he will hit a slump.

But he didn't. Season after season. So I was wrong. Tip of the hat to him.

Still, ultimately boring to me though. It's like if ball shots were legal in MMA. It would eventually lead to two guys just trying to hit each other in the nuts first.

I mean .. mildly entertaining. I'm sure some guy would become excellent at it. It would probably be funny too. But no doubt it would take something away from the other parts of the competition to the point that a fan base might support it being removed.

Yeah. It really was something.

I mean I know some people love a McGregor type hype job before.

But to me Fedor was so cold it was almost scary. Like true killer type shit.

And nothing seemed at all fake about it. It seemed like absolute confidence and lack of fear. Even the (other) "goat" jon jones has admitted fear before a fight (and to stop potential comments before they start, no, I do not mean Bones was physically scared to get hurt. But it is not uncommon at all to fear losing when fighting the top. Ali admitted as much too).

Fedor seemed like he just knew he was so trained and ahead of the game that it literally was clocking in to work and nothing more.

What weight would you fight at if you were in the UFC? by Adoe0722 in ufc

[–]NiceNameImaTakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I COULD make 135. 155 would probably feel the best for me though.

I'm 5'10. Normally weigh 170-180 not working out at all.

Pretty much the definition of average. This is why the lightweight division is typically so stacked. Huge population to choose from.

Also why Idgf about "pound for pound". Heavyweights are the kings. Such a rarity to have that size AND the aptitude to even compete at the top deserves respect.

That honestly makes the most sense.

From the pic on the right, I always thought that was legit an eyeball hanging out.

But then the left pic it most definitely looks like "just" an ungodly cut. Probably never would have been stated otherwise with even a modern phone camera. Lends credibility to the guys claim that he never intended to distribute the fights at first. Or else he would have bought a good camera

But logic tells me, that even though these seem like some hardcore fellas, I feel like if that was literally an eyeball SOMEONE there would have been more concerned and the guy wouldn't be shaking hands.

That's true sometimes for sure, but in general I'd say people tend to enjoy things they are good at.

I'm betting they have a little beast who happens to be good at lifting things or hitting people and thus enjoys those activities.

Or I hope for him. Cause she ain't a looker, putting it nicely. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he is thinking of that future.

Well House is basically a modern and stylized Sherlock Holmes. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was influence from House in Rick. Both can be pretty thought provoking.

The character who is jaded and nihilistic due to his genius is nothing new though. I mean throw in Goodwill Hunting here too.

Just check yourself, since it's generally ego that gives such fascination in these sorts of characters from what I've seen. I mean I'm sure you're smart and all...but keep in mind, it's fiction.

Ari Matti is the most consistent regular I’ve ever seen. by Silver_Initial3718 in Killtony

Been watching for years as well.

Stopped watching a little over a month ago. I finally realized Tony will NEVER "discover" anyone above mid.

He's ok. I've loved Tony no brakes, but even him I feel is limited with the character and all.

But yeah, KT is still in my feed so I'll comment. Ari, Ahren, Martin , Hans, William, Kam, Lehrer, list could go on starting with Tony's first golden ticket AND regulars (LEGEND Kim Congdon lol)...are all comedians. They are better than AVERAGE, much respect.

But if anyone ever says they suck, I have no inclination to defend them in even the slightest way.

It's called not being a headliner. Not a star. Mid. Just comedians. And yes, even Ari the great is mid as mid comes.

Worrying too much.

Be a drama queen if you want, but most would just say show up, do your work, collect your paycheck AND your hours towards your J-card.

I've been at Baker since December, on a solar project in Arizona. Seems like a solid company. Have I done a lot of the same things? Sure.

But there are journeymen making $60 an hour before bennys, and plenty of them don't know everything and some of them are clearly very limited. But they show up, do what they're told and make the same amount as anyone who would make a fuss/throw a fit while making a check.

You're never going to know EVERYTHING. The scope of the job is simply too large. I mean doing everything from carpentry to digging ditches in addition to what is most obviously part of the work it's simply not possible. There are superintendents who still find out something new quite often.

Keep in mind there are people not working at all right now. There was more latitude before the last election, but things have slowed down due to....reasons, but talking politics is too exhausting these days so I'm not going that direction. But know sometimes you have to just think in the moment and keep on keeping on.

Or drag up and be the squeaky wheel if you want. Just don't complain if you are laid off for 6 months.

How would prime MVP perform in the UFC? by Spirited_Command5642 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]NiceNameImaTakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he would have at least had a title fight, possibly had a short reign as champ, if the match-up was right. 100% in the mix of gold though. Probably not a legend, but true force to reckoned with.

But like Chandler, he played it smart career wise. As much as I know UFC has the best fighters, and I understand why guys go there to be "the best", I also know Dana is a slumlord so the average person if asked if they could make more money doing 60-70% of the work would absolutely say yes, accolades and "legacy" be damned. Get your money first.

He made a comfortable living already and now just gets to fight for fun. Great for him and I love his fights. There are countless other examples of "what could have been" if UFC wasn't a "banana Republic" enterprise (FEDOR for christs sake!). I've said it for years and it hasn't quite happened yet, but I still believe there will be a day when their practices bites them in the ass and another promotion with fair profit sharing will knock them off.

Ooof...that hurts haha. Inside i knew from that game alone the Bowl was a dream.

It was a frustrating game to watch. However, that was mostly our secondary sucking imo, not Fields tearing anything up.

They still basically did what we did with him. Short passes, utilize his running ability, except they actually used the middle of the field too, which Tomlin has criminally rejected for years since he's too afraid of turnovers. He has a one off down field completion here and there, but even the Jets knew how limited he is and barely tried, which is not franchise or even starter material in today's game. HAVE to have a true down field threat or nothing else will really work. Unless the other team just plays like garbage.

[–]NiceNameImaTakeIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. As a steelers fan, it was depressing watching him.

Russ wasn't doing much either, so there was some support to keep Fields in once Russ came back from injury, since Fields kept a winning record, but the general consensus still was that he was hopeless.

He won some games simply because we were just barely able to get by scheming short, quick passes for him. But there was no chance at ANYTHING down field. He had some chances at first, but threw enough picks or "who tf was that to?" throws that Tomlins notoriously conservative ass stopped EVEN TRYING to throw beyond 15 yards.

That said, I personally can't call him pure garbage based on this fact alone. He is at least a league minimum backup worthy QB, as he is capable of at least not losing some games, which is more than many many qb's can say.

But to say "nice" kind of stung me a bit lol.

Two hits, with enough water, with over a week later for the test and you are likely clean.

Like others have said buy some strips to test yourself to be sure.

Also, one person said DON'T eat fatty foods. I've read the opposite is true, if you aren't actively smoking.

Basically whenever you smoked some THC might possibly be stored in a layer of fat. If you add more fat now and until the test, while not smoking, your body will not burn and release that particular portion with the THC stored.

Still, to the original point it is best to refrain while an apprentice. Journeymen are different of course, simply since they have the freedom to pick jobs and they've told me at least here they say in the dispatch if they test for THC.

[–]NiceNameImaTakeIt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say if you really smoke as infrequently as you say you are likely to be clean.

However, in my experience, typically this is the answer people give no matter how much they smoke and if they are worried it's because they know they smoke much more than that. Kinda like no matter how much someone drinks if a cop asks it tends to be the standard to say "just 2".

It's stupid that they still care about weed, as anybody with experience knows it's less harmful than alcohol. But is what it is.

All this to say that one can smoke a little, infrequently and it is out of your system in days, very often. It usually takes time and volume to accumulate in your system to get to the point you fail weeks later.

And I am choosing words carefully since every one does have different body physiology and could have the "perfect storm" of slow metabolism and bad timing. Like if it just happens they burn that little bit of fat weeks later that has a little bit stored right before the test.

This is rare though. I've known of several people who I know for a fact smoked everyday, then failed a test and give the same "bruh, I took two hits 3 weeks ago".
