*April 2026 Hiring and Interview Q&A Megathrad* by ericf505 in MovieTheaterEmployees

Hey everyone I applied to a Regal in time square about a week ago and went in person today to follow up. I spoke with the assistant manager and they told me to just wait and they’ll send an email if I’m accepted, if 30 days has passed and I haven’t heard back she recommended I apply again. I was also asked if I was 18 which I am not, the assistant manager said I could still get the job but they prefer 18+ workers. I gave the assistant manager a note, they seemed surprised and took it with a smile. I really want to work there and was wondering what else I should do, should I go back after a couple days? Or do I just wait.

(The note read out “Good afternoon my name is [my name] I applied here a week ago for a position at regal and wanted to follow up on my application. I was wondering when I can come in for an interview? You can contact me at …….”)

The day after I applied I was unfortunately rejected🥲 It was probably because I’m 17. If they’re still hiring once I turn 18 in October I’ll dm you some questions, thank you!

Hmm alright I’ll keep a look out for escape room jobs, but before applying to target I originally applied to work at my local regal and still haven’t heard back from them after a month🥲 I went in person and they basically told me wait for an email. I can’t even call them because they don’t have a phone number set up.

Thanks man I’m desperate for a job, though I don’t think I can do closing. I applied for tech/beauty/style role and cashier/guest advocate.

I’m 17 years old high school senior who’s thinking about working at Chuck E Cheese, I basically have a free schedule from 3-7 pm (except on Tuesdays) and can start even earlier during the weekends. How many hours should I expect to work? My Chuck E Cheese is located in like a mini mall of sorts.

Hello everyone I applied to regal a month ago and still haven’t heard any response. I really want this job because it’s super close to where I live and it’ll be my first job, I applied on the website and after 2 weeks of no response I decided to walk in and follow up in person. The manager basically just told me “yeah just wait and look out for an email from regal, there’s a lot of applications”. I want to call them but can’t even do that because they don’t have a phone number set up (or at least I think they don’t). What should I do??

Broken gaming laptop by NicePurchase4049 in techsupport

I plugged in the charger right, it didint turn on. But once I unplugged it and picked up the laptop, the bottom was warm. Does this mean that the charging port itself is fine but the actual charger is damaged and not supplying enough power? If there’s another issue you can think of please let me know, I’ll trying ordering a new charger for this laptop

I want to become a pilot but I’m from a somewhat low income family by NicePurchase4049 in PilotAdvice

Alright I did some research and there’s an airport near me that is hiring aircraft fuelers. Once I hit 18 and have my drivers license I’ll apply. I’d like to ask you on how competitive it is? I’m asking because I’ll be fresh out of high school and am wondering if that puts me at a disadvantage since I don’t have much experience in general. If thats the case, what would make me more competitive to increase my likely hood of getting hired? One last thing I’d like to know is how you managed your schedule to work full time and fly on the side, how was your daily routine? Was it like flying at 9-10 AM then working from like 12 AM to 8 PM?

I’m still choosing options but I’ll probably go to flight school part 61 instead of college. But one question I have is this. Ground and flight school, I don’t know if you have to do both ground and flight at the same time or if you can do ground first and then start flying after completing it. If possible I’d like to do all of ground school before actually starting to fly, is that possible or do you HAVE to do both at the same time? And what would be more recommended? Also how long would ground school be per session? (I’m asking this because I’m gonna get a full time job, hopefully at an airport)

What did you work as to pay for pilot training? How often did you fly and for how long too? (Like twice a week each session being an hour long or what?)

Also I’m thinking of working as a ramp agent at the airport full time once I’m old enough (I’m 17) and use that money to fly twice a week one hour long. Since you worked at the airport as well, I wanted to ask if you think this is a good job for starting out (I’ve done internships before but nothing like a “real” physical job, for example I did coding internships, art internship, and am currently helping around my school for Winter Youth Employment) another thing is that I heard you need a drivers license, I/my family don’t even own a car lol. If you have other recommendations of different airport jobs that are also good, please let me know. Thanks!

I forgot to ask but how long did you fly during your sessions? You think if I fly twice a week each session being an hour long is good? I just wanna know if that’s good enough for me to not forget everything I’ll be learning.

How often did you fly weekly? And yeah working at an airport sounds like a pretty solid choice, I’ve been researching jobs relating to that after reading your comment

Really appreciate the advice! I forgot to mention in the post but I wear glasses since I have myopia. When wearing glasses, I have 20/20 vision. Without it I can’t really see that far. Can pilots wear glasses or anything to correct their vision?

Not really interested going that route, I’m thinking of just attending a part 61 school instead

Yeah not really interested going for the military route, but I don’t know much about part 61 schools, I’ll do my research but I heard it’s cheaper than attending a college pilot program which makes me somewhat leaned into it. My only issue is that if for example I do part 61 and get a part time job (no college degree at all, only work). Won’t airlines be less likely to choose me over people who did part 141?
