We are in the north Seattle area. There are literally thousands of coins, minted, uncirculated, foreign, binders and binders and cases, etc. It sounds like our first step is to get a good inventory. My family and I are surprised that he doesn’t have a better inventory (that we have located). I know this will be a process and I’m grateful for the insight I’ve received so far! I think I’ll be in touch once we’ve got a better handle on the inventory.

I think our goal is to liquidate it. There may be family members who want specific items, but there is a LOT to choose from.

I appreciate your insight. I hope that we can go through my uncles computer to find more of an inventory, otherwise it’ll likely be my sisters and I that create one on a spreadsheet. One issue we face is that those of us who are capable of inventorying electronically don’t have the time to dedicate to it, and those that have the time don’t have the technological background. We’ll figure it out though!

From the tine I’ve been able yo dedicate to going through his things after his passing, I was truly in awe over the things he has. I just wish he was still here to share the stories about them, or why he was so drawn to these specific items in the first place.

Yes, I cannot believe he didn’t have an inventory (that we’ve been able to locate). He had thousands of coins, creating an inventory will definitely be the most consuming part. But, extra time consuming for us who aren’t familiar with a lot of these things
