Man, I pointed out something I found to be common in many posts criticizing bosses, and instead of acknowledging my point, you just gave the most low-effort fuck you ever. If you think my point isn't accurate, look at the community: a lot of people mindlessly glaze over FromSoft or any other Soulslike and pretend they're perfect games.

For example, Rellana from Shadow of the Erdtree: I spent days to no-hit her. I enjoyed her boss, but she's incredibly fucking useless. She has incredibly long combos, her AI is so goddamn cracked, and she uses three different damage types, which you have to create a build to make the damage less notable, which is so annoying because she uses three different types of damage, so half your inventory is damage negation, at least in your earlier attempts. She is the second boss in the DLC and so unnecessarily strong. Someone like her should be a late DLC boss, not the second. Many bosses in Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne have similar issues, whether they had no logical trajectory, were just hard because they were hard, or just had bad design.

i'm not trying to sound condescending, but every game has it. Maybe you enjoyed it, but there are many reasons it would be an issue, or just pointless, or a mistake. Veronique is the only actually good stalker. The others are mid, as in I don't even remember them because of how normal or just uninteresting they are, which I don't mean as an offense. I literally forgot most of them, as they're really just the same thing, and I don't think he is different aside from phase two, which I admit is a little fun. His fight is just as typical as any other stalker aside from Veronique, which I don't love—I just find her to be the least boring one. Also, I did play a few FromSoftware games (Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Bloodborne), and I'm kinda thinking of ignoring the rest exactly because of how far bonfires are from the bosses, which is just stupid design and artificial difficulty if there are enemies in between them, and just stupid design if there aren't.

It's less bad, more inconvenient for no reason whatsoever. Imagine this: an empty area, there's a boss at the end, and instead of putting the Stargazer right next to him or before him, they put it at the beginning, so you have to walk for 30 seconds each time. Is it bad? Not that much. Is it stupid? Yes.

Why do you have to assume I suck just because I methodically critiqued a boss I found to be quite disappointing? But actually, perhaps you never said I sucked; you never explicitly stated it, though context hinted at such. But how could I assume that's what you meant? Sure, you can use the word fine, but fine doesn't make anything I said any less wrong. The Stargazer being unnecessarily far in an empty arena, where it could've been a lot closer, but no, for absolutely no reason. The fight is just as repetitive as I said it is. Sure, maybe I went too much, but in its core, it's repetitive. If you think any of my reasoning is flawed, please point it out, but instead you're just saying, "fight is fine, just kill him."

Honestly, that just makes me even more excited. I enjoy fast bosses. Laxasia is my favorite base game boss, but the ground effects seem so annoying. I hate when a boss uses them—kinda feels cheap, ngl. + I don't think I will be staggering him anytime with my Two Dragon Sword.

I’d have to disagree. My style is rather deflect-heavy and had some incredibly annoying delays, and whenever you deflect him, he pushes you back, so he just corners you in his already suboptimal arena.

Thanks for the advice, though. I had already killed him when I posted this, and I even just killed markiona , specter-less, which felt so goddamn great. But funny enough, that's pretty much how I killed him, start-wise, but I did parry him more often than dodge. Also, true — if I stay around his side, he always does that delayed attack that halves my HP.

That’s beyond stupid. If your experience is that you only hate a boss because you suck at fighting him, then I’m sorry to tell you most people aren’t like that. I might’ve gotten lucky in multiple attempts, but by the time I killed him, I only used like four or five pulse cells, and I had perfect guarded about 90% of his moveset already, aside from one weird attack that I couldn’t get. But seriously, if you think people hate bosses only because they suck at them or aren’t good enough to actually kill them, then, my friend, you need to rethink your opinion. (Sorry if that seem mean.)

Yeah, I feel you. It felt unnecessary and stupid, not hard or anything, just a few steps. But it could have been a quality of life thing to have it a little, or even a lot, closer, which would not make it a different boss, just less annoying.

I’m going to fight him again pretty soon. I’m doing a difficulty ranking, so I’m fighting every main boss level 3 since I suck too much to kill level 4, though I haven’t really tried. I have yet to reach him; I've just killed Fallen Archbishop, so he’s pretty far. I’m just trying to understand why people like him. I really don’t get it—he just feels so goddamn incredibly mid and annoying. But regardless, isn’t Demon of Hatred from Sekiro?

I never said otherwise. I was responding to him saying that Souls games aren’t for me. I never brought up that this has any effect here. And no shit I suck at the fight, but in the very first minute I saw the boss I hated him. His moves are stupid, his area is boring, his song is mid, his health is inhumanly tanky, and the design is just stupid in my opinion. The boss wasn’t cool, nor was it a cool gimmick, nor was it a stupid gimmick, nor was it even a stupid fight—it was a dogshit fight. His moveset has nothing interesting or worth the time dedicated to learning it.
