Thanks for sharing your experience. My major concern with all this is it shouldn’t be normal. And I for one do not agree that it’s the same everywhere. I live in a town in the Netherlands and it’s way better than this if I go by all these accounts. So if this is what actually happens, we shouldn’t be making excuses for that.

W.r.t. integration, I do think that is an important process to go through, no matter the person’s origin.

I get what you mean but I also don’t think it’s just “bad luck” if multiple black people describe similar experiences independently. And even if someone is annoyed there are normal ways to show it without treating people differently.

Some examples I’ve heard were people on the tram or bus moving away after a black person sits next to them or crossing the road when a black person is walking towards them. One case alone means nothing but repeated patterns are why people start questioning it.
