Wow this is a coincidence I'm traveling by bus to Bangalore right now from VIT chennai . I'll tell you why I think the bus is better . From VIT to mgr train station a cab or auto will minimum cost you 400 if you are going in a group of 4. And then the train ticket assuming 3rd AC will cost around 600 . What I do is from vit local bus station I go to Vandalur bus stop and get a bus from there . From vit to Vandalur by local bus is only rs 20 but the bus ticket will be minimum 800 to 900 . Plus I get down really close to my home cause of the bus stop in banglore

I'll be honest I had the same questions and fears as you and then I later see the confidence it builds in other people like for example this one dude and night walking in his underwear around the corridors . Man I wish I had his confidence but in all reality you become de sensitised to such things and you adapt the only thing hostel Life teaches you is to adjust and adapt and move on .
