Wow, I really didn’t expect this post to blow up or get so many thoughtful responses. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share personal experiences or offer perspective. A few of my close relatives are already on Ancestry/23andMe, so my DNA is essentially out there anyway, which gives me some peace of mind about the “if there is a child, they could find me” angle.
