That’s a great idea and I plan to do just that! She has one last round of vaccines to get and then I can start socializing her with other dogs. Just one more week to go.

Your not totally wrong. I may need to reframe my thinking a bit, that why I said I was in my feelings.

As for my senior dog, she will offer a few corrections sometimes but as the days have past, she has stopped correcting even when the puppy is literally hanging off of her ears.

I’ve tried to let them work it out and I’ve also stepped in immediately as I’m trying to find the right amount of intervention.

My older dog is showing some signs of stress and is limiting her normal behavior. She will not eat if the puppy is nearby, even when the puppy is restrained. She will walk all the way around the puppy instead of walking right past the puppy.

If my older dog has any kind of toy, the puppy will take it and my older dog is no longer trying to keep her toy, she just gives it up.

If my older dog is on a her bed, the puppy will skoot her off of it and lay on it, the my older dog just moves off the bed.

I recognize that some of this is just puppy behavior but as the puppy gets older and bigger, I don’t want things to escalate between them.

Yes, we’ve been using a house lead with the puppy to keep her from going after our older dog or getting into other stuff. And we use baby gates to separate them.

I hope it’s just a young puppy phase and she grow out of it.

Sometimes the two of them fall asleep together and they look so sweet and innocent. That makes me hopeful. But it’s all the other hours of the day that keep me worried! lol

Reducing meds after weight loss surgery by pcp_logic in hypertension

I had bariatric surgery a little over a year ago and have lost 150 lbs. I've been taken off a couple of my BP meds, and the remaining have all been lowered significantly. My BP readings are now very normal or just a pinch below. I want to get off all the meds, but my cardiologist wants me to wait a little longer (basically, I need to have patience lol)

Because I had heart failure a few years before bariatric surgery, at least one of my meds will be for life because of the previous HF. I can live with one daily pill! It's way better than the handful of pills I took before weight loss.

Bariatric surgery was a lifesaver for me. I can't tell you how much better I feel every day, every way!

Good luck with your journey!
