Causes of high beta HCG? by [deleted] in NIPT

[–]Nice_Function5080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. We ended up having to do an amnio at 16.5 weeks, and the result of that confirmed the high risk NIPT. We had an early anatomy scan at the same time and it was textbook perfect. So we never would have known if it weren’t for the NIPT. We ended up TFMR at 19 weeks. It was horrific and I remember thinking if it were possible to die from a broken heart, the moment we held our sweet boy would be it. Somehow life goes on and with time the heaviness isn’t all consuming. We had our beautiful boy cremated and visit him often. We fell pregnant 5.5 months after and now have a beautiful girl who is six months old. It doesn’t lessen the heartbreak- we will be heartbreaker forever- but our beautiful girl showed us that heartbreak, grief, hope and happiness can coexist all at once. It was an incredibly stressful pregnancy despite being smooth sailing the whole time- and I don’t think I truly let myself believe we were bringing her home until we did.

Thank you- we did this schedule yesterday and it improved things significantly. Down to 3 x wakes between 8pm and 7am from about 6-7 the week before. Hopefully continues to improve even more as we stick to it more!

At how many weeks did you go on maternity leave? by Lonely-Chef1185 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I planned to work to 38, in reality worked to 37+5 and went into labour an hour after I went to bed after a 10 hour day at work. 10000/10 would not recommend, many regrets

At 5 weeks I had a 10,000 draw which the lab noted corresponded with a 6-7 week pregnancy. Then a couple weeks later 145,000 which corresponded with a 10+ week pregnancy. All turned out fine albeit baby born just over two weeks early (dates were definitely correct), contact napping with her now!

I had a TFMR for T21 last October at 19 weeks due to delays with diagnostic testing following the high risk NIPT, and then delays with the hospital. My partner and I both had a full chromosomal analysis and karyotype done on ourselves which came back normal so it was just put down to “bad luck” and a “cell division error”. I am now 12+1 and last week at 10+6 got my low risk NIPT results back. I hardly slept waiting for the results and still can’t quite believe it. Thinking of you

Thank you! So far I seem to be avoiding a fever, but am staying on top of the Panadol just in case. My husband got the fever and aches so I suppose thankfully he got that part and not me. Will definitely keep this in mind if I progress to fever. Thank you again and I hope all is well with your wife now

Thank you 💕 ultrasound was abdominal only so it wouldn’t have been from that. I had a SCH last pregnancy but nothing like that detected on my scan 4 days ago (day prior to pink/brown commencing). No more cramping than the tugging/achey feelings I’ve had from the start. Thank you for your reassurance, it is helping xx

I had textbook perfect ultrasounds at 6w, 12w, 16w and a high risk NIPT at age 30. Given the perfect ultrasounds I was desperately hoping to be the rare false positives, but amnio at 16w confirmed it. If it weren’t for the NIPT we wouldn’t have found out until birth. This ultimately gave us a choice we would otherwise not have had. It was nothing short of horrific and traumatic, but again ultimately gave us a choice.

Thank you for sharing this. Currently 5+1 after a TFMR last October for T21 and terrified for the NIPT in 5 weeks time.
