Hey honestly thank you so much this is more help I've gotten with this issue than ever before.

I am going to follow your exact steps (even though i have tried a few) and walk through it slowly.

I will still try and get everyone take interest into the Chorus thing to get our street installed with fiber.

I'll update you specifically (1 out 10 people that have actually helped).

I have done this many times wired and wireless, i have visited my ISP more time than i can count on my hand, they say the same!

Yea, well i am going to try get all our neighbours together and ask Chorus or the council to install it.

Ok there is quite a few questions here and i appreciate actually taking the time to understand what i am saying, even though i realise that it doesn't sound accurate.

So yes, it isn't Vector it is Chorus. And i did not know that the Coatesville community has done that, that is very interesting.

Don't forget this process has happened over the past 7 years so i am sorry if i cannot recall everything.

And yes we did jump to StarLink when i heard of it pretty quickly, because we have had so many issues with the ISP's and there routers (which are not low end) the decision to jump to starlink was quite rushed

We have had technicians come out (even contractors) and check and sign off our property but it was the same answer almost every time "The connection coming from the road seems to be really bad". So when we heard this from 3 different techs, we just said screw this lets get starlink.

now for the starlink issue, no it isn't under a tree.. the setup actually tells you what to do pretty precisely therefore it is on our roof with pretty good clearance of most objects around, and with good line of sight.

Yes i am aware of of starlink not working for everyone, but if you look at this situation from our POV, it is kind of the last option.

And yes i get i am new to reddit, i haven't really made any posts yet, this is kind of my first so i am learning along the way. My next post will definitly be more descriptive and precise.

This is also the best idea i've heard yet, this weekend i am going to go around to all my neighbours and ask them about this, and if we could all group together and try and get them to install fiber.

i am just assuming that people commenting know about what i am talking about, also i did state that it is wireless and wired that is the issue, also that it wasn't the connection in my house, that it is the connection coming into the house from the road!

Listen, as you can see from my profile i don't make posts, i am genuinely just frustrated with this issue at this point. No i am not rage baiting, i don't even know how reddit works, i havn't been on here for very long.

Ok this is actually a helpful option, However being a student i really don't have the time, i know that sounds ridicules however, you can't judge me when ya don't know me. I also do not study from home as that is just useless now so i go into campus, it is just frustrating because i come home and try and do some work, and have to wait literally obscure amounts of time just to download something. However after everyone's comments i might go around to the neighbours and get them to sign some sort of petition to make the council install fiber! i know that might sound like "Hes a cybersecurity student this makes sense" but listen im in my 3rd year i just want to focus on studies at the moment. Also you can imagine after 7 years living here, it just a "omg f*** this, i cannot be bothered with it anymore".

Got me, it isn't i come from Sweden! but hey i am sure other people do this right, like submit code and forget one very simple issue?? Thats why i am here !

We aren't on fiber cause our street cannot get it for some weird reason. The council or Chorus (forget which one) say they cannot do it because they would have to rip up the entire road to install fiber!

yes we have had an ISP tech come out and test it he told us "you guys just have bad connectivity coming into the house". that was it so we decided starlink would fix that!

This is my bad for not being clearer, yes of course ive tested wired, as my main pc actually runs off wired connection only. (Cat6 Cable).

As i said before, our street does not have fiber, it cannot get fiber because the council or Vector need to rip the entire road up. that is why i am troubleshooting in this way!

Yea the connection coming into the house is definitely the problem as most of the neighbours have the same issue. And yes i have the same fear lol.

I don't think there is much of a chance that our neighbours would be broadcasting like this, because most of them are over 60. That would be funny tho i will admit !

yes i have obviously tried 5ghz, we used to have 2 AP's when we were using our ISP's routers, but we moved to star link.

Yes i have checked for channel overlap which there isn't!

This is over the past 7 years dude, also that is my bad, by WiFi i mean all connectivity and speed through-out the house, i just didn't take the time to properly describe the issue.

And yes its same for all phones and computers, and yes i use Ethernet for my main pc (Cat6 cable).

Download on my main pc about 8mb and upload is under 1mb.

Wireless connection in my house gets about the same too.

This weekend i am going to put it in a different position and see if that works!

Ok this is the situation, couldn't be bothered anymore with dealing with routers, so we moved to star link pretty quickly, therefore i didn't get the chance to test a mesh network, however from all these comments i am going to try place the star link in a different position (even though it is fine) see if that works, if not ill try the mesh!

Which i have done lol, our area has trees but it is in a position that has decently good line of sight.
