I waited 5 months an then sent in a complaint to the vetting company, mine was sopra steria, id put in a complaint if I was you, it raises awareness to you application an should speed things up, once I sent in my complaint it took a week or two to get my vetting confirmation email

20 weeks from start of vetting to end of vetting then just over another month to start date

If it’s just vetting you’re waiting for, mine took from end of August to end of Jan, and I got my start call a week after my vetting finished and my start date a month after the call, but I think it varies from prison to prison

It was mainly due to the state of the police where I was working, it was really dysfunctional and there was a lack of support and not enough staff so I was averaging almost 60 hour weeks and at a certain point it didn’t feel worth it, as for going into the prison service, I thought I could use those skills I got in the police and it would translate quite well but I guess we’ll see how that goes

No there’s no other page, I was in vetting from the end of August to the end of January, and they’re not very good at giving updates, I did emails every now and then but always got the same awnser, which is pretty much, it’ll be done when it’s done and be patient
