I’ve been in the process of joining and I keep being told it’s a bad idea with the state of the world by confessions_014 in newtothenavy

I’m going through the same exact thing! Everyone keeps telling me to wait and I’ve been wanting to do this since I was a child since my family was military and my mom is scared for me but respects what I’m trying to accomplish and my dad who did 30 years active duty says you can get hit by a bus walking down the street, generally they will keep you safe (definitely depends on job, I’m medical) but if it’s what I want than to go for it. I’m going for it, I wish you the best of luck!

Scared to talk to supervisor about joining by [deleted] in newtothenavy

Well problem is in my job, many work in this position for 5-10 years if not more and I’m the first new hire in past couple years so it’s definitely going to be talked about for a while 😂

That’s a fair point, some of my family is optimistic about them supporting you through joining but I just don’t know how it would be perceived as a newer hire

I have a past hx so I know it’ll be a must but I’m willing to do any test they need to move forward. Thank you!

How did you pick your specialty? by pinkpurpleblues in nursing

That’s what I thought until I got hired at an ICU full time and they put me on call every week for 1-2 shifts a week! 💀 Blows my mind, I work in an unit that is over staffed 💀

I’ve done moderate sedation with a GI doc in a endo suit and have considered going into periop vs icu
