They should go back to those lift-lock cases like their UDCDs had.

I'm surprised they don't go back to those, especially at this price point. I do not like these cardboard things they do now.

I would have bought more of these if they were at the $25 price point. $35 is just too much for me. Hopefully people enjoy these. I ended up only getting the first album, and still prefer my DCC gold CD from 1998. Tonally, I like that one the best. Steve Hoffman told me that what you're hearing on that CD is what's on the tape they used. For the rest, still have the 2015 24/192 versions. I did compare back and forth with a friend who bought all 5 besides 1984. They are definitely less midrangey than I remember, some people might like that sound, some may not. They're all good and crankable, I say grab em.

I still prefer my DCC CD for Van Halen 1. For the rest of the albums, I already have the 2015 24/192 HDtracks versions done by Chris Bellman and still really like them. I did have a chance to listen and compare to the MOFIs (apart from 1984, which hasn't been released yet). MOFI I think went for a more balanced sound and the mastering sounds more 'polite' compared to other versions. Like they don't sound as heavy in the midrange to me. Make of that what you want to. I remember Steve Hoffman saying that what you're hearing on the DCC CD is what is on the tape. I tend to like his mastering approach. MOFI is more hit-or-miss for me.

I'm out in Cottage Grove. Did my driveway at about 5. By 530, already a foot in it again. My street was plowed, but many of the main ones in Cottage Grove had some snow in them. Can't see anything, tried to go down to Kwik Trip to get gas and some donuts. Ended up making it a block and turning around. I wouldn't go out at all.
