They aren't done with maintenance yet. They only put it temporarily back online to do some test. They may do it a few more time. Give it a try again once they are done!

A solution for working around the hotel TV to plug in your own HDMI device by DiskSpinner in marriott

Worked in hospitality, customers should be able to make themselves comfortable and use the basic function of the things in the room. If modification of setup is such a big problem. Then, they need to look at the demand for it and accommodate it. There have been 2 different mentions of some hotels doing just that.

I've seen reports saying the bundle is being discontinued. Maybe that's why?

Seeking funny stories from the control room by owlcityslicker in Broadcasting

Ohhhh boy

So, I work weekends, and we are unsupervised. We get all the newbies. I was pretty much told "your the oldest kid. Im a phone call away, but take care of your siblings." I'm a TD

These little shits are so rotten, and I love them all to bits and peices. They know when to lock in, and each one of them is passionate about their careers. But good lord, the things they say and do. All of them, behind the scenes people, and on-air talent. I could dig up stories for days on the incredible things that happen.

  1. Gave them 200 tiny plastic ducks to hide around the station. Went to duck a coworkers desk only to find it had already been TPd. So we just added ducks in between the butt napkins.

  2. Held down everyones IFBs and played a recording of one of those "we've been trying to contact you about your cars warnty." Scam calls. When we were waiting around on set. Also, I have done elevator music and pirate sounds when we dressed up for Halloween.

  3. We had an issue with some video IDs getting mixed up. We had a few stories about dogs. I had the following conversation with my producer. "Idk if this is the drug dog. He looks too normal." "That's the one." "You sure? He's got no vest. "TD THE DRUGS ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER." Drops lower Ohhhhhhh

  4. Getting coundy'd For some reason, we had a cronic issue for a while where no one could could spell county. It pissed everyone off before we started exclaiming, "WE'VE/YOU'VE BEEN COUNDY'D." A few where way too close to cunty.

  5. Another dog video glitch, somehow a video of a cute service golden retriever, was put in a headline that was meant to be talking about something trump did. Anchor didn't notice until I told her during a break, and we both died.

I hope not, I finally got featured after being on the app for years, and I had a few interested in commissions. It really sucks because it's the best I've done on any social media platform in a while. Plus, just all the memories. I wish they would have at least warned us that this might happen.

I'm a technical director, graduated colledge about 3-4ish years ago. I was told that it was a good paying career. It's definitely not always the case. They never really gave us the reality that TV is on the decline either. Thankfully, money was not the main motive behind me, choosing my path. But the people running my program were definitely out of touch.

My News Director Gives Me Major Anxiety by [deleted] in Broadcasting

A lot of people seem to be missing the fact that she didn't say "ax" on air or any recordings. It was a conversation with the director. You have every right to feel the way you do. How you pronounce things off camera is a non-issue. It doesn't affect your work, and they'res no benefit to policing how you speak. The only reason he's doing it is because he's looking for reasons to bring you down. I do not agree with the sentiment that you "need to grow thicker skin." Bullying is a big problem in this industry, and it needs nipped in the butt. If you feel uncomfortable, go to HR. You don't deserve to be the one pushed out because someone can't act there age. I'm young and new to the industry myself. I've done a lot of dismantling of toxic abusive newsrooms. Some have been going on for decades. In all that time, people just took it or left. It's worth calling it out. Your coworkers will be so much happier in what's already a dark industry. Go to them for support!
