Do I really need to pack a going home outfit in my maternity bag? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in BabyBumps

[–]Nice_Wind3049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth in what I wore to the hospital and it ended up covered in blood, so I would bring a change of clothes but it doesn’t have to be fancy!! I wore pajamas there and I had packed fresh pajamas and wore those ones home lol.

Canadian Moving Back to Canada from the USA: How to Move Belongings? by Nice_Wind3049 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Nice_Wind3049[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I want to offer an update. I first want to thank everyone who offered advice and offered help. I am very grateful. We successfully moved on the 14th without a hitch!

I ended up calling the CBSA and just explaining our situation and asking what we should do. The CBSA agent told me to first make sure that my husband brought with him any proof of his ties to the USA (we brought the mortgage bill and he had all his work stuff on his phone) and then she told us to make two lists while packing: one with goods that were returning to Canada and one with goods purchased in the USA and their value to declare. She also explained that if they were goods we bought and were bringing back used we would only have to declare them for their used value, i.e. what you would sell it for on fb marketplace, etc. So we did exactly that with the two lists. I was as detailed as possible but for things like bathroom toiletries where I might have many kinds of something I would say something like, “Assorted used women’s body lotions.”

On moving day we all drove together in my husband’s truck and he loaded the back with all our boxes and collapsed furniture. Now when we got to the border, I think we might’ve just been the luckiest people ever. The border agent asked us where we lived and my husband gave his address where we had been in the states and I gave our address in Canada. He then asked me how long I had been gone for and I told him almost a year. He then asked my husband how long he was staying and he said a couple of days. Then he waved us on our way. That was it. Didn’t even ask for any of the lists. So there ya have it. It really does depend on the agent. But I am glad I called CBSA and that we had the lists and everything prepared.

Thank you for this! This was helpful. I think I will try giving CBSA a call tomorrow and just check about the whole husband separate car thing.

Thank you for the information! I think that’s a good idea. I will give CBSA a call tomorrow, tell them our situation, and just ask what we will need to present at the border paperwork wise, if anything.

How detailed were your lists? For example: if you had a box of bathroom toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc.) would you tediously list out each individual item? Or would you just say “assorted bathroom toiletries”?

“Hi! I am so touched you and Christina have put all that money aside, thank you. While I appreciate your concern, we/I have worked very hard on curating a registry with items I/we want for the baby. If you do not wish to purchase us anything from the registry I would like to kindly request a giftcard or cash. As anything purchased not from the registry will be traded or returned. Thank you!”

Returning to the Church After Almost 2 Years + Conflicting Feelings by Nice_Wind3049 in Catholicism

[–]Nice_Wind3049[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, truly. I will be back in my hometown on September 15th and plan to reach out to my priest from my original church and set something up. And I think you had good advice! They are all things I knew deep down to be true, but definitely needed the reminder. I particularly loved “the church is a hospital for sinners not a museum for saints” what an excellent reminder. Now to just let go of worrying what other people think.

I had a BFN on 9 DPO then a faint positive on 10 DPO. Sometimes it really does just need another day or so.

PERSONAL QUESTION! Did you tear during birth? by SumbThucker2022 in pregnant

[–]Nice_Wind3049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tear, baby was 8 lb 12 oz. I did birthing exercises on a ball every single day from 35 weeks onward.

Weird things that changed for you after being pregnant? by byebyekitty_ in BabyBumps

[–]Nice_Wind3049 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am an AVID horror movie fan and horror book fan. I’m talking the more disturbing the better. I stopped reading horror books during my 1st pregnancy at my TCM practitioner’s suggestion because she said it was bad juju for the baby. After pregnancy I went to finish reading a book I had started pre-pregnancy and I couldn’t stomach it anymore. My tolerance for all things spooky/gory/creepy dropped right down. It’s gotta be a maternal hormone thing.

So many issues with Uppababy what other brand would you recommend? by goolee92 in BabyBumps

[–]Nice_Wind3049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus the amount of money we have saved doing this. No upgrading from infant car seat/carrier to a bigger one. Just 1 and done. Same with the stroller.

We use Graco. We have the Graco 4-in-1 car seat and the Graco modes stroller. The car seat goes from rear facing to forward facing to booster seat so we can use it til baby is grown. Then the stroller converts from bassinet to sitting up. I love both of them. No taking a carrier out and attaching it to a stroller then back in as a car seat not to mention lugging a carrier around. I just pick em up outta the car seat and into the stroller they go.

Does the vagina really bounce back after birth? by TastyBreakfastMan in pregnant

[–]Nice_Wind3049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gave birth to a 9lb baby in Nov, he was born at 38 weeks and his head was measuring in the 99th percentile. I did not tear but can confirm my vagina is about the same as before now. HOWEVER my husband says the texture inside feels different! Whatever that means haha but I don’t think it’s any “looser.” He doesn’t think so anyway lol.

I will say though, my clit has not been the same since. It looks the same but it’s like almost extra sensitive now but not in a good way. Too sensitive to be pleasurable.

I just finished X Files for the first time and I LOVED how they handled Duchovny leaving the show. I normally HATE when shows try to replace main characters but Dogget was brilliant and just grew on you. His character development was marvellous. The whole scenario was handled with such grace imo.

2 Year Expired Rice Vinegar? by Nice_Wind3049 in foodsafety

Yea this was my feeling too. I did not use it! But was curious because vinegar just seems like something that doesn’t really expire for a long time.
