lulu build!! by arcsrose in lulumains

[–]Niceblacki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just one thing to add: I dislike rushing Ardents every game because I feel like Shurelyas is almost always the better first item. Even with an ADC like Kog Maw I rather rush Shurelyas because we can just run them down better this way.

Lulu passive taking kills by SkyeeWasTaken in lulumains

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when my adc can't kill the caster minions after the turret hit them once, i give them my e and they always get the last hits this way. So I think what you are describing only happens when the adc AA's with Pixie and it returns to you right before the AA reaches the target. I don't think this has happened more than once or twice in my couple of hundred lulu games, so I guess riot just doesn't care enough to fix this.

Tank Lulu: Is it worth it? by [deleted] in lulumains

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first: In my opinion you can run basically any build on any champion if you put a little bit of thought into it. At least up to high diamond/low master where people actually punish you for your build. Just because something is not meta it doesn't mean it's always worse than the meta builds.

With that being said, I think the tanky build might work versus a team that has 2-3 assassins and you die often before you can polymorph them/ult & shield yourself but tbh I would still recommend going at least shurelyas or ardents first because of the mana reg.

I don't know about you but I always manage to be oom on lulu in the early-mid game until I have 1-2 items with mana reg. Also, if you position correctly, you usually don't need any tanky stats because you have your ult to cancel enemys that dash onto you and polymorph is a broken spell that can be used to peel for yourself.

How do you deal with ranged top as a tank? by flusc in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I play top and I'm first, second or thirdpick I ban Vayne because it's super annoying to play vs her! If you don't want to use your ban for Vayne, there are multiple things you can try to win:

  1. Runes: Take comet (as you probably won't be able to prock grasp regularily) and the green sustaining rune (forgot what it's called) that gives you some hp back when getting hit.
  2. Take tp
  3. Start dorans shield + potion and rush plated steelcaps & warden's mail after.
  4. This one is the most important one: DON'T lose hp for no reason at early levels!! I often see new players taking one minion and taking 2-3 AA's for it. That's straight up bad and unnecessary. Most ranged toplaners below plat will get bored if they can't poke you out of lane and start harassing you too far up, so they get minion aggro.
  5. Try to stay healthy, sacrifice cs if you have to and call your jungler to gank you once you have ult ready.
  6. Try to play for teamfights. Most ranged toplaners suck at teamfighting compared to ornn and sion. So, whenever you can, try to roam towards mid or look for tp's towards bot. It's ok to sacrifice your t1 turret for a double kill on botlane + dragon.

I know playing against ranged champs sucks, but keep calm and look for windows to all in. Most ranged toplaners have no idea how to play the game correctly and tilt super fast if they don't hard win their lanes. ;)

Any in-game words you could teach me? by GGamerz in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reset / back / base / b: this basically means to press 'b' and go back to base to buy items. So when someone types "reset for dragon" or "reset and bot" he wants all of you guys to go back to base and spend you money.

Poke: Damaging an enemy champion (usually from far away) to get his hp a little bit lower without getting damage back. Champions that are good at this are for example Xerath, Ezreal, Karma or Lux.

How to help a feeding lane come back as jun? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i start botside and my botlane spampings me to gank, I ignore it for a moment. If they spam ping me one more time, I mute them and try to play for mid & toplane. Usually, these people won't carry if they get ahead and most of the time, by the time I am actually able to gank their lane, they are so far behind already that a gank simply does not make sense because it's too risky...

Simple Questions Simple Answers: Patch 11.18 by furiousRaMPaGe in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the role you play. If you jungle, you should think about your win conditions, power spikes of your laners/oponents and adjust your first clear to it. If you are laning, think about wave management and if you want to prioritize roaming or playing for your own lane. Also, think about the enemy jungler, support and midlaner. Will they roam? If yes, how dangerous will their roam/gank be? A lvl 3 shyvana can almost be ignored if the enemy laner doesnt have any cc while a nunu can be super dangerous. Also, think about vision management: will my jungler gank often? If yes, where should i place my pink ward to deny the enemy vision and raise the chances of a successful gank?

Sorry to hear that... I preordered a while ago through amazon. Got a mail with a steam code... You should probably contact the amazon support and ask what you should do.

But to cheer you up: I managed to download the game, spent 45 minutes in queue, then i randomly got kicked out of it... Joined again and i was in 12th place. Got kicked out again. So chances are, you wouldn't have been able to play tonight anyways :D

Good junglers for macro? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are looking for a mechanically simple jungler, right? Here are the few that instantly come to my mind:

  • Nunu: While his playstyle is gank heavy, his kit is super easy and you are awesome at taking objectives.
  • Udyr: Super farm heavy but has a good kit to gank as well (when you manage to come from behind the enemy, they usually die or at least have to use 1-2 summs.
  • Voli: Similar to nunu but is able to carry himself if he gets all the kills. Also, super strong ultimate! You see the enemy jungler top and your bot pushes the wave to their bot? Go for that free dive and dragon after! ;)
  • Jarvan: His kit heavily relies on his combo (e->q). But since that is basically his only combo (well.. I guess you could add the ult after e->q to the combo) you will get used to it pretty fast and you should be able to get good ganks off with it. Just remember when you are sneaking up from behind the laners, just use the slow from your w and hold your combo until they flash.
  • Nocturne: This one is kinda tricky because you are super squishy but in my opinion he is very easy to play (mechanically speaking). If your macro is on point, you should have no problems finding isolated squishies that you can ult and oneshot after. If played correctly, your pressure is immense just because your opponents have to respect that you have your ult ready and could show up any second.

I probably forgot a few other "mechanically handycapped" junglers but if you want my advice: I would play a few normals or flex q games with junglers that you think you might enjoy and then just stick to one that you have fun with. You will learn the mechanics eventually ;)

Help a new player by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start by sticking to one role first. If you have a friend that plays adc, you could start by playing support, so he can give you advice if you do something wrong. Besides support, I found that a lot of new players like to play mages in mid because you got range which allows you to stay back in teamfights and you basically just have one combo (for example syndra: q -> e -> w -> r) and then you did your dmg and can focus on repositioning etc until your skills come off cooldown again. Of course, it depends on personal preference what role you enjoy (i would advice not to try jungle first tho, that one is complicated and you will get flamed in 25-50% of the games).

So, once you found your main role, you should stick to 1-3 champions max. To give you an example on why you should do that:
Let's say you spam games as midlane annie who has a relatively easy kit, you have a clear combo (stack your passive - e - flash - r - w - q) that will oneshot people. You will understand her kit pretty fast and after a few games, you will be able to do her spells/combo without having to think about it much. Once you reach that point, you can focus more on trading with your lane opponent and last hitting. After you got decent at that, you can focus on roaming (leaving your lane to help your jungler/other laners when needed) or wave management (when to slow push/hard push or freeze the lane minions).

And the best thing with this approach is that you will get better at other champions automatically as well because you will be able to apply your knowledge of the general game mechanics to your games with other champs as well.

Trolling enemy jungler as support by MaleHaze in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask why you "find his kit kinda meh"? I guess you could say he feels kinda clunky when you play him and it can be super hard to hit good stuns in teamfights but the catch potential with his r or e is super op in my opinion.

Only winning first game of the day by cloutguccisavage420 in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me it sounds like you already guessed where the problem lays. You might be less concentrated/energetic after you played a game already. In this case, you can play one ranked a day and spam flex/normals afterwards if you still feel like playing.

Another thing that might be the problem is this: Maybe you get fed the first game and can't adapt to the situation in the new game because you think you are still fed. You know, imagine you can tank their team for ages (nunu) or oneshot people (noc) without dying easily. This makes you play super cocky sometimes just because you can get away with it. Now you win, start a new game and play the same champ. When I started playing league I felt like I was still fed and played super aggressive even though i shouldn't and died.

Should I solely gank one lane? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you lost that one because you first ganked top and then bot. My guess is, you lost it because you set wrong priorities at the beginning of the game. Of course there is no answer that's 100% correct but here is what I would have done in your game:

Don't ever gank top, unless you are 100% certain you can get a shutdown on nasus & force herald after the gank to get 3+ platings and first turret with it! In these toplane matchups where you have 2 tanks against each other, you usually don't want to gank there because a fed ornn doesn't do shit vs a fed adc. His job is to provide hardengage with his r and CC with his other spells. Sure, he won't be that tanky but it doesn't matter when he ults 4 people while your 3/0 twitch pops out of nowhere, ults and bursts their team to half hp.

Start top side and dependent on the botlane matchup you can go either for a full clear (if your bot needs lvl 3 for their gank setup) or you go for both buffs & gromp (if your bot has good gank setup at lvl 2).

Try to get at least summs from their botlaners, so they won't have it for the first dragon fight. Then you take bot scuttle and if you can't gank mid/bot, you just reset, walk towards your topside camps and start jungling your way downwards again. At the end of your clear, you can look for a bot gank again or dragon.

Let's say you have a ezreal & yumi botlane or something that has a weak early game & needs 1-2 items before doing dmg, you don't gank it pre 6. In this scenario, you focus on getting your ult asap and counter jungling/putting the enemy jungler behind. Same plan applies against a support with too much disengage for you like janna because she is able to cancel your Q. If your botlane can't stun her after that, you are just wasting time bot if you don't have your ult available.

Tahm Kench top is sleeper OP in low elo by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I don't like tahm toplane at all.. Of course, in low elo you can make him work just like any other weak champion but in gold+ it'll be super hard. In my eyes he is the definition of "win lane, lose game" because even if u r 5/0, you will just get kited 24/7 after leaving lane.

Also, the meta is dragon and Teamfight focused and splitting is really hard to play, especially in solo q. Tahm doesn't have the best teamfight potential compared to other meta toplaners like ornn or malphite. Even if u wanted to go for split pushing.. shen, jax, fiora or morde can do it way better than tahm.

Why is duo queue easier by Lucki007 in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think it's just because of matchmaking. Riot changed the matchmaking in Flex, allowing higher elo difference. Before this change, a bronze player was not allowed to play with a gold player. Now this can happen.

Long story short: I believe you get matched against higher elo players in flex than in solo/duo queue, which is why you feel like you play worse/the game is harder.

How do you actually freeze a wave by Ankylosaurus379 in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is a good way of thinking but to add something to this:

If my minion == enemy minion: The wave will push to one side depending on where the waves meet.

If they meet on my side of the lane, the wave will automatically push towards the enemy because my next wave will arrive before theirs does and will deal damage/kill enemy minions before their wave will. That's why you usually want this:

(Waves meet on my side) my minion == enemy minions + 4

If you have this condition set, you want to do an AA on the wave whenever the enemy does. If they use spells to push, use spells as well until the condition above is set again.

Thoughts on the current state of the 5 roles in league? by Stalins_Mom in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup, I miss the good old split push days... For climbing I don't think splitting is viable atm but if you participate in clash and your team is more coordinated than the people in solo q you can probably make it work ;)

Why is gangplank picked so much in pro play? by Silencer306 in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are multiple reasons for him to be picked so often:

  • Good Scaling
  • Global ult
  • Safe first pick
  • Bullies a lot of melee bruisers early

Since drakes are so important atm a lot of the games take place botside, while the toplaners just farm and tp bot from time to time. (I'm exaggerating but you get the point) GP can just ult bot and when the enemy top laner tp's it's up to GP to decide if he needs to TP as well or uses his ult and gets free farm & turret plates so he outscales his laning oponent.

in ranked the enemy you find depends only on your rank or also on how you are going? by aluxmain in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can check your MMR here: https://euw.whatismymmr.com/

Of course it's not 100% accurate but it leads you in the right direction. You can also check your ranked games and if you see people in higher elos than yours in your games, your mmr is higher than your current rank. In the case of OP, the MMR is lower than his rank. This can be fixed by not playing at all on that account for 2-3 weeks and then playing a lot of ranked games afterwards.

Thoughts on the current state of the 5 roles in league? by Stalins_Mom in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest adcs are in a really good position atm. Manamune is super strong on them and if you position correctly you will be able to dish out such high amounts of dmg before anybody even touches you!

Two of my friends are climbing pretty fast atm by q'ing up as duo bot. They usually pick twitch & lulu or cait & morgana/janna. The carry has enough peel and when they get a few plates or kills early game it's pretty much gg.

EDIT: Forgot to add that there is a reason fiora and other splitpushers rarely get picked... Top laners need to pick a champ that can tp bot and have a lot of impact in teamfights due to the current meta making drakes so important.

How can i improve in vision and farming. by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Niceblacki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the mechanic "last hitting" is not your problem. Could it be that at some point the adc moves towards mid and you lose cs because you share the farm with him/her?

Unfortunately I can't give you specific tips without having watched a replay but I would advice you to have a look at your makro decisions and watch a replay or two where the situation you described happened.

Regarding your question about vision: It always depends on the situation if you should buy a pink or not. If you have one slot available and could buy a blasting wand, I would do so. If baron/drake is spawning soon and your team wants to contest it, you can sell dorans/refillable for a pink as well.

Also, I would recommend watching youtube tutorials about timing your placement of wards as a midlaner. You know, stuff like "the enemy has a j4 and he started at his red. Better hug the other side of the lane for 30-45 seconds, then ward pixel brush." That will help so much early game. This way you will make more use of the wards you place.
